Honestly mate, there will be all sorts of clauses. Who knows the fine details? They have screwed by big time with their Comms though. Massive damage.
I haven't seen anything that would mean they had to announce this ,so why now is the main question from me... is it to expose a reluctant shareholder to finally move and accept a new investor cash or is it due to the Keane mess where voting intention went against KLD or what ??? they has to be a reason for it .
Just came in having a quick catch up and might have missed something. But this is absolutely astonishing. We were told by the club that KLD had a controlling interest If shares are equal as it stands by any definition of the term he does not. Top of my head, can only think of three possibilities. - The Club Lied to us. - All shares aren't equal. Some are non voting shares (very unlikely) - The share split has changed since KLD took over. Someone clever than me will probably put me right but Either way the Club have had a bloody PR nightmare here especially with all their cloak and dagger stuff about NDA's. In one respect its got nowt to do with me how they own or run the club However the least we can expect is a bit of honesty. If they are lying about this what the hell else is going to come out. And more to the point what's the commitment and plans going forward. Stunned by this to be honest

Exactly. Something has happened that has allowed them or encouraged them to reveal this. Perhaps the NDA was REAL, was for one year only, and was signed on the 14th Feb last year (even tho the takeover officially announced a week later). Perhaps KLD has been desperate to tell the truth ever since. My fear is that actually they have massively underestimated what this revelation means to fans. Again, for me the issue isn’t the percentages. It’s almost not even that they lied. My problem is WHY they lied.
It was getting too much attention and lying about it again tomorrow would have made it untenable when it came out a few months later after a play off semi final defeat haha

Most dams burst, and maybe that's what's happened here. Possibly some journalist has actually done some work instead of just loitering on the Internet, and has forced this disclosure. But this is a very bad look indeed. Whatever clauses and conditions were in place, maybe are still in place, better than this was required. Whether they all think all the derails should be in the open or not, that is now the only way to try and regain the trust of the supporters. Many will have taken little interest, but they will now. The STs are due out soon, and right now they look a very hard sell.
As The Exile said in the other thread (can’t tag for some reason), if when Sartori ran for office he had to forego his voting rights, that means that 20% of the club’s shares don’t have voting rights. Meaning that 41% of ownership is actually 51.25% of voting rights. Which means that when KLD acquired 41% of the club, he did acquire a majority share of voting rights. Now if all that is the case, which is plausible - I’ve got absolutely ZERO idea why they didn’t say so earlier today rather than what they did say. Again its either because they’ve underestimated the impact or something weird is stopping them.
