I never ever read that thing.

Most regional papers are very poor these days, but even when they weren't, and in those days I would be travelling and working all over England and Scotland, the Ronnie Gill was always among the worst of them, if not the very worst. The Echo I always felt was in the middle somewhere.

Some, by the way were very good indeed back in the day.

Here's another corker, no doubt picked up from the mentalists on these forums.

"Sunderland fans will be uneasy if Donald and Methven are still in the background, and if they feel that Louis-Dreyfus has simply been brought in as an 'investor' and that the original Madrox group are still running the show, they will quickly come to regard the takeover as a sham."

FFS man, Louis-Dreyfus has a controlling shareholding whereby he can outvote the other three on his own.

(For anyone who wants to read this drivel/send an abusive email, here it is ...

It's almost like the Ronnie Gill actively don't want the deal to go through. <laugh>

It feels as though certain fans, or groups of fans like to see themselves as "in" with the club - Roker Report and their matey chats with Donald and Methven, which in turn pushed the WMS collective noses out of joint. Now it's RAWA who appear to be positioning themselves as the voice of the fans. I say, just let the fans have their own voice. We don't need anyone speaking on our behalf, or "helping" the new owner to "understand.....demands of the fans"

    It's cringeworthy

Can we let it go now? We're in general agreement that RAWA ****ed up, KLD is his own man, SD & CM will be nothing more than minor irritants in the shadows, the club appears to be moving in the right direction - at least off the field, and the press are a bunch of know nothing ****-stirrers......is there anything else needs to be added?

Tell me where any football club would have to lay down the ins and outs of any takeover, you’re correct and Speakman gave all the information that was needed, I feel RAWA are trying to hang into the coat tails and trying to be the Billy big bollocks on the block, however, they certainly don’t speak on behalf of me, I voice my own opinions at the match if I feel it’s needed.

between all these fan groups, they are all the same trying to get in with the senior figures at the club, if they all concentrated on supporting SAFC and leaving running the business to people who are actually qualified to do it.

embarrassing from RAWA, made me cringe when I saw the statement.

I would like to see a poll setup to see how many people would say RAWA speak on behalf of them?

To be fair to them, trawling message boards, twitter and other bits of social media is how they get "information" these days. I mean, having to gradually build up contacts, get to know people on the inside and learn who they can trust to give them the inside story takes time and can be hard work. It's far easier to look on a message board for example, grab a few quotes from there, stick it in your column with an attention catching headline, then add a vaguely worded tweet from your twitter account linking to it to generate some click bait, which keeps the advertisers happy, and jobs a good un.

Aye but if that's the case there must be an agreed share value? Otherwise KLD could increase Sunderland share value by investing, and the minor shareholders profiting, makes no sense. Just wondered how this works with other clubs?

RAWA should send a statement to KLD telling him to take no notice of these **** stirring black and white ****s, they don’t have Sunderlands best interest at heart, they don’t speak for us and constantly undermine anything the club does. Don’t answer their questions as there is nothing to answer.

James Hunter is and always will be an absolute melon, surely you’ve got to let him get in first before spouting drivel like this

Hunter is just doing what RAWA were doing, which is trying to make sure he can’t be accused of being a happy clapper naively accepting the owners like we all “did with Donald”. It’s to appease the group of fans who are sceptical of anything the club do.

Hopefully this time next month there will be no doubt.

Totally agree. We have an excellent coach, who puts a hell of a lot of time and effort into the role for very little reward. She managed a side that was unbeaten in the league last year, and in the semi-final of the League Cup before Covid struck, and we were shat upon by the Women's FA. We should have been able to hang on to our best players, but lost our best defender, midfielder and striker in the closed season. Two of them went to Durham, who are going great guns. Durham were always in our shadows, but not any more. Durham's website looks much more focused and professional than ours, with genuine interest in involving as many fans in 'their club'. Ours has been little more than a token gesture.

There's a big spotlight on the Women's game, and with a small amount of backing we can get promotion to the WSL 2. A bit more backing will get us into the Top Tier, where we belong. We can't rely on the FA to help us out of the ****, we've got to do it ourselves.

More and more Premier League Teams are realising the need for a successful Women's team and it's time we followed suit. The amount of investment needed is chicken feed compared with even the Academy Teams. I'm confident that our new owners will see the light.

This isn’t about Hunter it’s about the mag rag he works for. Despite all of the evidence against the Saudis, the ****ing vermin supported their proposed takeover and backed it fully. Sunderland get taken over and it’s questions, questions questions. Were they asking questions about the murderous regime? No the wealth had them gushing over it, they are prostitutes who can be bought. They are obviously biased and controlling the north east sporting media. It ****ing stinks man

He can just keep them as minor shareholders forever. They have no input and simply take a cut whenever he sells us if he fancies it.
