Luckily, I doubt anyone pays much attention to the missives from a fringe group, who feel the need to make conditions in this way. The whole point about supporting a football team is that, at least until they sicken you off and stop, you do so unconditionally.
Yeah Vietnam and as I was the leader in our gang I thought I'd take them there. They didn't know i only booked one return flight
I'm pretty sure the owner will share that hope mate ... ... I just don't believe he needs it spelled out to him, that's all. IMO there was no need for a statement at all, the Sunderland supporters will welcome him, that's what we do.
I agree with that tbf. There is a thing with statements at the minute, RR done one the other day to clarify their position on Donald, and it felt very self important. I think with RAWA they're supposed to be our "reps" so it's different, but nobody would have been upset if they'd not said anything.
Its unreal mate...we have been clamouring for somthing like this to come along for years....what do people actually expect....the lads not even here yet ffs But hes made a statement on the clubs website outlining his vision for the club. I cant remember that happening during a ongoing sale process at a club....hes provided evidence as clearly hes involved in recent appointments....its impossible to provide evidence that its working until a period of time passes. Some need to relax & let KLD & his team concentrate on getting us going, incredibly busy period ahead to get us going asap....yet some are wanting to claim tje lottery prize before the ticket is on .....the tickets on...lets enjoy watching it play out....although its gutting not veing able to go
That's the tricky thing with with these 'open letters', it's virtually impossible for them not to look self important ... ... and the press will inevitably pick up on the most sensational aspect. Sometimes it's best just to smile and say nowt. And if you do say something try not to make it look like your speaking for the entire support.
I agree with what you've wrote here. They are making out they speak for the entire fan base but in truth they only speak for a tiny percentage. The statement they've come out with makes them look like a prepubescent teenager trying to be relivant.
In truth they're only speaking for themselves. This statement was drafted, agreed and sent out by 'the committee' whatever that is. From many comments, from RAWA members, it's clear they don't reflect the views of everyone.
I'm all for RAWA and any link to the club. But I do have a problem with anyone who is 'voted into office' for any period. Especially during social distancing etc, there's nothing to stop them speaking on behalf of other people which can sometimes look like they're speaking on behalf of everyone. If you choose to put yourself in that position you have a duty to think very carefully before you speak.
May I just comment and say your talking Bullshit. There is no "veiled threat" as you put it. there is no suggestion of "We 'll hound you out" , again as you put it. Its not a clusterfuck of a statement that puts us anywhere in the compass of the Shop shouters, Vicars or Horse beaters or even legal eagles currently trying to salvage a deal with heathens.. RAWA, if your a member (anyone can join for free) have a committee that was elected by its membership , you may if a member have even voted to represent those who had no voice and wished to have there concerns transmitted to the Club. Alas, any of these these message boards or podcasts rarely convey the fan base concerns or feelings directly to the Clubs hierarchy. RAWA does that, directly as required by the government interface with all supporters groups . So before you start spouting ****e, sit back and think how do you get you lone voice (if your not a member of RAWA) to be heard by the Club. Once RAWA becomes a trust ,very shortly by all accounts, they will be the voice for the supporters groups at SAFC. These are my observations and do not represent any fan group
I found the sol name a bit cringey at the time but just sort of got used to it. Can't remember all the names bandied about at the time. Was "the monkwearmouth stadium" one ? Bit of a mouthful but not as pretentious. I don't like these advertising names now but I couldn't care less anymore if it helps get us back in the premier League. Edit, agreed, Roker park was a fantastic name
Does anyone who posts on the other forum know what's what with this RAWA statement. A mate just posted and it was immediately deleted, is there some kind of tie in?
It seems to me that a lot of plans are in Speakman press release and to be fair its enough for me and should be enough for RAWA. And to be honest actions speak louder than words SD had plenty to say when he took over but most of that turned out to be smoke and mirrors. This guy seems to be speaking loud and clear through his appointments to the club ( I know officially that SD was in charge when Speakman was hired)
That's fair enough but that does take time. And we've seen the first shoots of this being implemented so why does RAWA hope to have a meeting with KLD so they can express the demands of the fans? Not needed, RAWA aren't that important to be thinking they have to meet the new owner to tell him what he should be doing as the fans demand it. That is so poorly worded and stinks of arrogance like and that's exactly how most folk have read it. I'd expect that kind of **** from the Mags not from us.
can i just suggest that RAWA read the statements already made by the new staff members and the new owner? i believe those statements pretty much outline the plans they have for the club, quite substantial considering they have not actually sat in the boss' seats yet imho...i really cannot see anything else that needs 'urgently' sorting just yet, this will not be an overnight fix as even a return to the premier under possible current circumstances could take a minimum of 2 more seasons after this one and i am sure plans will alter as required.
