The thing about SD was from day one he was everywhere which at the time was great, we had an insight that we never had before and SD was committed to that given there was so little before. The thing that upset me was he went from 100% communication to zero almost overnight. I wasn't in the camp calling for him to go as the various supporters group demanded but he alienated supporters like me when he just switched off the communication overnight. It was almost like they were bored by it all although the truth is likely to be that they were skint and seriously out of their depth after a succession of very bad decisions beginning with the Maja/Grigg transfers.

They were bullish with agents which I think 99% of us will have been happy with at the time but they should have ensured that the Maja deal was such that he stayed on loan until the end of the season, which would have pretty much guaranteed promotion. Mind you if that wasn't remotely possible they made the fatal mistake of signing Grigg which cost us badly. I would through in prioritising the EFL cup and the extra games they cost as being major factors why we didn't go up that first season.

Apologies for my post two back, I started off by talking about communication and then the demons in my head from two seasons again returned and my post turned into something else

I'd rather you didn't mate, this could be a good year ahead and you've posted some good stuff.

It's well known that people get touchy at Christmas and this time we've had the tension of the takeover, Brexit and thousands dying around us.

Once people have a drink, on top of all that, it can become a bit fractious.

I'm currently sitting alone, in the office, while Mrs Smug weeps and wails with her sister because their mum died two months before Christmas ....

    .... 25 years ago <doh>

The best one I've seen over there was someone saying if KLD had anything about him he'd have bought a bigger club ...

... I know nothing about him but he's here so I'll hope it all turns out fantastic.

Leicester, Southampton, Villa have all been here and aren't doing too bad.

In fact Villa were an absolute basket case quite recently, and things can change.

I appreciate the reply, it can be tough at Christmas when you have recently lost loved ones. I struggle every Christmas after losing my grandparents over successive years, they were my surrogate parents.
Anyway while we are chatting I have enjoyed your posts.
I'm glad The Yeti who was messaging me, didn't get the purchase.
I will give myself today to see if I calm down.
Best wishes to your other half and her sister.

The internet is a wonderful invention but allows strangers an unwelcome proximity ...

... a bit like being on the last bus home on a Friday night <laugh>

100% use the ignore button marra, luckily on this board though the abusive ones get the ban hammer quite quickly.

Every one of us supporters could write a long term Strategic Plan for our club, as you say, it's blatantly obvious what's required. The difficult thing is the Annual Business Planning to achieve the strategy.

Donald came in with bluster talking about the Dortmund model and his plans for long term investment, unfortunately his short termism completely destroyed any hope of achieving those targets.

KLD appears completely different to me, his initial statement and his appointment of Speakman are indicative of a business set on solid foundations.

Last bus, that takes me back nearly 60 years, smoking and all.
Whatever you keep posting, always good to read.
Anyway back to ownership, I liked Bob Murray, he was a good guy, did me a couple of favours, just didn't have the funds to take us to the next level.

I have to be honest mate, I always try to 'entertain the troops' to counteract the pro-pessimists which infuriates them and leads to a lot of abuse and stalking ...

... some people want an atmosphere of doom and daft lads like me really get under their skin.

    Well bollocks to them <laugh>

Just drove past the SOL, sun shining on it. Miss the place. Nearly a year since I last stepped foot in there due to family reasons (good ones). January was my last time in there. We'll be back soon. FTM
