Glad we've moved on from him. If he was playing games, we've shot him down. Shows the new boys won't be messed with.
Whatever happens we're now in a position to be able to pay people off if they're not performing ... ... I'm sitting on a hillside in my old Transit, having a few cans of 86 and watching the sunset over the Pyrenees with Mrs Smug. She says hello
I'm excited for the attacking football. In our entire time in League 1 out strategy has been to keep a clean sheet and trust that we'll score a goal or 2 and win games and get promoted that way. This is a chance to take it by the scruff of the neck and say "we are sunderland and we are winning this game". Or something less dramatic.
This^ unfortunately we have some fans who will right him off before hes even started. Thats if it is him of course, everyone were saying poyet the other day and that didnt happen
Worth mentioning Bailey Wright was his captain at Bristol City as well. Wright been poor recently - might be what is needed to get him back.
he's never managed Sunderland in League One. Should be the easiest promotion possible. Bristol City into the top flight is a tough one and he came very close in building a team yo-yoing between L1 and championship into contenders.
Thing is he hasn't actually failed anywhere. Succeeded at Oldham saving them from relegation, he immediately improved Barnsley and he improved Bristol City who had been a yoyo club. This has the potential to be exciting for me
Oldham were on the verge of relegation and Barnsley were in turmoil when he took over. Bristol City, yes he didn't get them promoted but they were in the championship and had never been anywhere near the Premier league yet he got them close
