I'm hoping the new owners are going to announce everything together, takeover, new appointments throughout the club of qualified, professional, experienced people..... imagine that, a competent plan from day one.
Not sure that's how it'll work out, but,it's beginning to look like a competent plan is in the process of being implemented.
being from there just surprised you can talk, never mind talking about zen when you are from dipton you can say these things
Ask any fan currently and i think we'd snap your hands off to be rotting away in the Championship. These lads have overseen a very decent run of academy products and got them playing first team football - One of which they have sold for an initial £25m. This surely shows the club are now starting to actually formulate a plan for our academy - in league one we should be actively pushing lads into the first team not flogging them as they have done in the past. That should be reason enough to think these are good solid signings.
I've weakened mate ... ... currently waiting outside the village shop while Mrs Smug buys some cans of 86 Extreme
Good memories of Dipton when I was growing up.Last time I was there,a couple of years ago, I was at Mountsett to say goodbye to a friend.
Apologies. I saw Gareth’s post, went back to check what you said because I couldn’t believe what he was trying to say... and somehow managed to reply to your post instead of his. I should have a nice cup of tea before chomping on people’s posts
A lot of our fans are impatient to get back to the Premier League, me included, but I think a lot of us would be a lot more understanding of a slower approach, if there were visible signs of progress being made each year. In the last five years we've just gone back and back.
Its Gin and Tonics for me and the current Mrs F......... She has no idea why i'm constantly on this laptop, I tell her i'm checking on all things SAFC....she doesn't believe me
One thing we are not thinking about is it’ll be easier to get a good 1st team coach in if we have these vacancies filled with good names. Imagine going to and interview and asking who the academy manager, dof or the technical director is and the answer coming back is “we don’t have any” these people being brought in is a big big plus going forward
Maybe we're gonna take over the Eagles Basketball Team. After all, John Hall nicked Sunderland Sunblest from us. Maybe, like Man Utd and West 'Im recently, they are looking to get a piece of the Womens game too. I hope so, cos the lasses coach deserves some backing.
I hope it all comes good mate. What I want to see in the long term is, these players that everyone seems to be banging on about that these people brought through, well they were sold on for good money. I want to see these players come through with us. Not us be a team thats a conveyor belt for young talent to be sold on. I don't want to be a team like Peterborough who do that.
Who is the manager gonna be do we reckon? Some are saying these appointments mean its not gonna be the Cowleys
Thats why we are laying the foundations and bringing this team in now. We've never really had the pathways into the first team. if these guys can produce talent and get them into the first team then thats surely got to be better than signing ****e like Graham and Grigg. I'd much rather have the likes of Neil, Diamond and Curry in our first team than some of the utter dross we have signed in the last couple of seasons. if nothing else it will save us a few bob!
