I wouldn't think for a minute that any of the appointments we make will have been the work of Rodwell.
He was brought in by SD to do a holding job whilst SD negotiated the sale. Any material decisions will have been referred back to SD and he will have done what he's been told. It may be that he's competent and he may hang on to a role under the new regime,but he's an admin man and no more.

He’s been there a while and from a non playing background. Will let you know if I find out anything else about him. I know him and speakman are mates so it makes sense

If that's the case, I think both him and Speakman can only be good for the club. We have a cat 1 academy that has a reputation of producing decent if not genuine quality youngsters who up to now have been poached by premier league teams for peanuts. It's about time that the academy should work for us and not other teams. Its a win win situation - they either head up to the first team and/or then sold on for millions, it'll make the club self sufficient rather than relying on someone plowing millions into the club year after year. Don't want to get too far ahead of myself but it all seems to be falling into place.

seems everywhere has a long line of 'one above another' floor worker, line manager, group manager, level manager, area manager etc etc... in my day you had a manager and a supervisor/chargehand or two and the rest did the graft.

I'm truth I think that makes sense because we had a team that totally lacked leadership. Obviously it didn't work but as a player I'd have understood what he was saying.
