Yes, but Smug asked you when he was last in the NE. You seem to imply he has been working there regularly. Any chance of getting a reply to Smug's direct question?
Would be a baptism of fire for him, if true. However, he knows the area and has played for the club. Something that people always allude SPK with and why he should get the job. Wouldn't be overly enthusiastic about the appointment of O'Shea, but we could do a lot worse than him.
I have supported Sunderland since my dad first took me to watch them in the days of Len Shackleton and I have come to terms with how negative a football fan can be. However there are times like now that it’s good to be positive. I believe we are at the start of a new dawn that will take us forward . We are on the way back.
Problem these days is some folk can’t form an opinion for themselves so they take the fanzine opinions and have it as their own. So the negative spin etc is spreading via those people. Got nothing against some cynicism because we’ve been burnt before so it’s only right things will be critiqued but to totally dismiss the takeover and be overly negative of it helps no one. Just meet it with cautious optimism whilst asking the right questions. the thing with methven has come from nowhere and spiralled out of control. Three blokes on here have consistently said it’s not as big of an issue as being made out, the same three who have been on the button right the way through this. For now I’ll take their word for it to be honest. They’ve been so in touch with the take over they’ll know over any fanzine groups how involved he’s going to be. I do think there’s an element of personal agenda being pushed but it’s human nature I suppose however one bloke, Michael Lough or what ever he is called is really pushing it on Twitter to the extent where it’s becoming propaganda. Not helpful.
He would need back up imho, not sure how I would feel about it tbh, pinch of salt that one atm, seen Peter Reid linked today, names are just getting pulled out of hats
All I know is Connor Bromley said Methven was his boss until he resigned and then he never heard from him or saw him at AoL again. Seems clear to me Methven will stay involved in some sort of Marketing Director / PR type capacity. Which suits his (alleged) skillset.
O'Shea would be madness imo. Can't be anyone with no real experience. He might turn out to be the best manager in the world but it's not a gamble we should be taking.
Everything can be taken with a pinch of salt, odds on managers being appointed will tumble, if people keep placing bets on them being appointed.
Your word for what, you haven't said which games ... ... if you're coming on making claims you need summat better than 'take it or leave it'.
