I’d suggest 14 of those wouldn’t interest them regardless.

I’m not defending them blindly here, but they’ve a track record of building from the ground up. There was no possibility of them doing that at Huddersfield it was a club already beyond its ceiling.

It won’t be them anyway, so all pretty irrelevant.

    Ok
Must admit my head has been spinning thinking about what we should do for the best
This is such a big appointment. We really need to get right
Appart from Ross we've went for tried and tested managers that haven't worked but what do we do
I would appoint Poyet as DOF. And would love it if we could unearth a young forward thinking manager who could take us up the league's
Bit of a pipe dream. But wouldn't it be great to have an entertaining Sunderland style that other teams aspired to

Appointing a former manager is like getting back with an ex girlfriend, Yeah there were times that were good but ultimately there was a reason it went tits up

Think they all sit in the east stand with blankets, flasks and black pudding. I've read that site for years (the kid from Peterlee who spent his bus fare on a cheese pasty and loads of other 'gerld' threads). I've declined to comment on it so far but it's got rapidly down hill. Shame.

Have you considered that perhaps Cowley wasn't interested in every single one of those?

It's not supposition. It's a fact that 16 clubs have decided to appoint someone other than the Cowley's for the manager's job and it will aslo be a fact that they appointed who they thought was the best candidate, which wasn't the Cowley's. Which part of that is an assumption like?

They've got a far better record than your ****er of choice Joey Barton though.

That they would automatically be appointed if they were deemed good enough and/or that those clubs weren't interested in them. They may not have wanted any of those jobs/any offers made may not have suited them.

I know he’s just signed for Mansfield but if we are appointing a DOF or sporting director I would still consider Clough me like

We should be setting our sights a lot higher than the Cowleys imo and I'm fairly confident the folk who actually make the decisions will think so too.

Or, you had a stunner, decided to shag about. Ended up pulling a proper minger, got an std, got fat, became single and depressed. Then, the stunner rocks up and says, "fancy shagging again?"

Mint night tonight, enjoy it! Plenty time to debate the merits of the Cowley brothers.

Although, I find it difficult to be anything but excited about anyone who isn’t Parkinson! **** you Phil :emoticon-0136-giggl

Jocelyn Gourvennec being mentioned now and is in the betting. Probably fits the mould more than others mentioned as a young, up and coming manager from the continent.

I personally would prefer someone like him.

My thinking aswell, there has been a lot said about PP not being sacked before the takeover so its making me think that its all signed and sealed and the new regime as made there first move, if I'm right then there first decision they have made is spot on lets hope for many more

This would be the Wolves who appointed well known the Santo who admittedly only had a couple of years of management behind him but had a really good playing career. And also Leeds who appointed Bielsa who needs no introduction. While I agree about the manager merry go round comments about the likes of Hughes, I would be well happy if we got a gaffer in like either of those pair. Which obviously the Cowley lads aren't.

Interesting. His last spell at Guingamp doesn't seem to have gone that well though.
