Will Kyril Louis-Dreyfus become a major player in Sunderland's future? Maybe. But is that really a good idea? FF explains the situation The English club Sunderland AFC, which has been sailing from crisis to crisis and relegation to relegation for years (he is now in Division One, the English D3), is the subject of the most serious interest of Kyril Louis-Dreyfus (22 years), one of the three sons of Margarita and Robert Louis-Dreyfus, the former owners of Olympique de Marseille. He has teamed up with Uruguayan politician and businessman Juan Sartori,39, who also happens to be the son-in-law of AS Monaco's owner Dmitri Rybolovlev, to take charge of the sleeping giant of English football. A French club also targeted? According to information gathered by France Football, the takeover of Sunderland would in fact be part of a more ambitious framework. Louis-Dreyfus and Sartori are reportedly considering partnering with one of Sunderland's current minority shareholders, Charlie Methven, to build a portfolio of three clubs based in England, Uruguay and... in France, although no indication has been given at this time as to the name of the potential target in France. Sunderland's potential is real, and its price seems reasonable at first glance (25 million euros for 59% of the capital), but local sources are concerned about the real state of the club's finances, including the debts incurred by their main shareholder, Stewart Donald. Is Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, who can rely on the Akira family trust fund, really aware of the seriousness of this economic situation? One doubts it on the spot, and it is surprising that the buyers have apparently not yet carried out a complete preliminary audit of Sunderland's accounts, which would, it seems, contain surprises to its examiners...
Looking at the fixtures from now till boxing day, the only one on paper that looks tough is the Fleetwood game, so makes sense to do it after that for a new guy to bed in. Only problem being, there's two games a week from now till then.
I feel like it’s like coming down stairs and being told Santa’s been shot so you are getting f uck all but we might be able to get you something nice for your birthday in July.
Dont think there is much in it to be fair, hes been injured apparently so probably only playing to get some fitness
Doom mongerers jumping all over that French Football piece. It a piece that asks whether KLD knows about the true depths of the economic situation, and says it would be surprising if he hadn’t done DD as has been reported (in one place). That has of course been twisted by some already to be proof that he doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into.
Eddie Howe just then on MNF, when playing against Southampton he changed formation 3 times in the game and Southampton reacted and also changed 3 times. Imagine that, a manger with some tactical nouse to change the actual formation during the match instead of a like for like sub on 82mins. Unbelievable Jeff.
That's an odd article, it seems to suggest that the new would be owner doesn't know Sunderlands true financial position. Just noticed Andy has posted an English version of the website.
He's collaborating with Sartori who might just know about the finances. Besides which, they're irrelevant ... ... It's the total cost that's important. I'd also bet Dreyfus has been in direct contact with FPP.
I may be being a little thick here but what would be worrying about the clubs finances? That article mentioned some surprises I thought apart from the loan from the Americans we were debt free and that the loan was attached to Donald money he would have to pay back not the club? Am I missing something?
I’m abit behind today, but just seen AM started today for the u23s. interesting.Parkinson said he would never play again for a Sunderland team, so he hasn’t made that decision
I may have been wrong about AM- he always expects high standards and does not accept crap players whinging....a leader and who knows a future gaffer
The article is claiming to know more about our finances than Dreyfus ... ... why not save all the bother and just tell the lad
