Putting the money aside, the best way for Donald to be involved in leaving a legacy right now is being part owner during the Louis-Dreyfus era
Might want to use google translate. but this is fun. This tweet translates as: "Bayern Munich de France, two European finals and reconstruction from scratch" - what Sunderland fans can expect from Kyril Louis-Dreyfus
I was told, just today, that Donald would be able to take his share of the bail out, use the furlough scheme, avoid match day costs of stewards, etc and survive the season. Hopefully this will be an arrow through his eye ... ... or is that Hastings Insurance I'm thinking of.
The trouble is that Donald is torn and nothing can happen unless he gives it up. All he has to do is sign and we'd have new owners.
I'm (probably unnecessarily) worried now. I feel a tone change from 24-48 hours ago. We need @Magnus or @Prehab26 or @Evil Jimmy Krankie to come in with some happy faces and happy news
Did anyone see that Bridle Insurance aka SD has sponsored the BLC Mental Health Hub today for 3 years... However in SD's statement about the deal he says, “I am really pleased to be able to help and I am fully committed to helping the community in Sunderland and surrounding areas. In the time that I have owned the football club I have met some wonderful people and I want to continue my support for the area and the people in it. To be able to support the BLC Mental Health Hub and such worthwhile endeavours that can really make a difference is something that I am completely on board with.” I can read that two different ways: He's sticking around and a deal has fell through, and he is using this for some positivity for himself. He's sticking around but because he's retaining some of his shares. Although this is good for BLC Mental Health Hub, I can't help but feel something is up...
Donald has clearly stated the club is for sale and he wants out. So there's only one reason he's still there ... ... money and nothing but money.
Yes, I know that I mean a more formal "We're in talks with this preferred party of Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus, its in the hands of the lawyers of both parties and the EFL. No further comment for now". Watch them read this board and just use that example I've given in the statement.
If donald thinks we will get promoted with this joke of a manager he is even stupider than I thought. He’s not to most popular of blokes anyhow but I think it will be pure hatred if he manages to ball’s another takeover up.
Not sure mate. At the minute they'd obviously stick with the line that it isn't worth holding due to the takeover. I'd assume we'd give it a fair amount of time. For me, if there's nothing more concrete in the next 3 weeks or so I'd be asking to get something rebooked. After all, if it gets into January we'll be told that they're busy with the transfer window etc. There's also plenty other things aside from the takeover that people want to discuss and if it takes too long people will think we're letting them kick the can down the road. If we've heard nowt more in the next couple of weeks I'll ask the committee when they're planning on raising it.
So is it still ongoing and due to complete in the next two weeks as reported by various sources? And we’re just waiting during this timeframe for the final details to be sorted or is Donald still clinging on by his fingernails for dear life slowing or maybe even stopping progress? I’m confused and slightly worried now
Until it's signed, sealed and yellow tickered it could be either. Donald went back on a sale to FPP at the death. I'd be amazed if he does it twice so am still confident.
Yes very true mate I agree with you too...he would be foolish to ball’s it up again through his own personal stubbornness and greed especially in the current climate.. Thanks for the clarification and updates as always mate.
There’s gonna be periods of no news with this. I think there’s a bit of good news dependency going on here. We just need to sit tight and hope for the best
I think at some point he's got to accept that this is as good as its going to get for him. Even if he gets us up (not certain by any means, not even looking likely going by recent performances) he'll have had to spend a load plugging the losses. Enough that would likely wipe out any additional amounts people would pay for a championship club. If KLD is making a decent offer I think he'd be wise accepting it. From what I hear, FPP think the true value of the club is around about the £0 mark so if I was Donald I wouldn't be clinging to hopes of them massively increasing any bid!
This saga is going on and on I think everyone just wants it to come to an end , the thread is always interesting and is always well populated with generally a variety of very good posters . I would hope that the takeover is completed sooner rather than later with a satisfactory conclusion so that the Club as well as the fans can move on, here’s hoping that the next couple of weeks sorts everything out .
