been saying this for a while. counter-attacks last year were terrible. theo was the only outlet with pace since Arshavin looked desperately unfit. it meant the ball was always going to go to Theo, leaving defending against him very easy. now the opposition can't send as many players forward because you can break at pace on both wings - stretching the defense
When Walcott plays, defences have to sit deep. This was evident against Barca who where terrified of his pace and what it could mean on the counter. With Miyaichi and Oxocube as well teams will have to really be careful about commiting players forward. Hopefuly this brings in a new era of Arsenal counter attacking football. The Invincibles did this perfectly and this contributed to the success of the side massively.
It would be good to see Arsenal work out a gameplan to wrap up each match within the first 30 minutes as they did with The Invincibles. Hope they spend their new sales proceeds effectively.
How terrible was it watching Walcott burning up the wings, getting into a good position and having no one to cross or pass to....
I'm actualy very confident that Wenger knows what he is doing and will bring the right players in. I also don't believe for a second that Fabregas and Nasri will both leave and cause massive trouble for us. Imo only one of them, if either, will leave this summer and if either, or one, or both of them do go then AW will spend the cash needed for good replacements.
