they have been a much better team for the last 20 years going on world rankings....But I guess they have won every one? Or that 7/9 home matches have been won by the home side. Or that they have a course setup for their style on the USPGA, home advantage and no 'away' fans If they come to Rome and smack the Europeans up then your guess could be seen as correct
I think we need to have a serious re-think about the selection process. The UK/Ireland and Europe team was top heavy with players who are past their best (Westwood, Casey, Poulter) and should really be giving way to younger talent coming through. They may have performed heroics in previous competitions but they along with McIlroy were a waste of time and aren't going to get better.
How have previous US sides with higher ranked players been spanked in the past? Or you also ignore the fact that 7/9 have been won by home side?
Westwood and Poulter have maybe seen their last RC. However Poulter was No.2 in putting stats for the season, so a worthy wildcard who in RC has performed above his ranking every time. Europe have a poor record in forsomes and pairs/tactics could maybe have been better. Looking forward to the return in Rome, then lets see if this US team can win away from US style courses.
Err, but all the US were ranked on average higher that the Europeans and have been for the last 20 years. So were the European side better? Strikers are rated on goals, so golfers should be on ranking right?
I think what I said was proven to be correct and there was alot of talk about how promising this group of Americans was prior.. They're likely going to dominate for a decade.
