I normally get into the Ryder Cup but this time I was totally uninterested.....I hardly watched any of it. Why is that? Is it overhyped, did golfers get bad press for not turning up at the Olympics (well, half of them at least). Maybe Europe have had it good for so long, they were bound to lose eventually. Anyone else underwhelmed by it all?
Best team won. We didn't nail it in te big moments, bit of extra experience and class won it. They had form players in there, we were banking on some fresh talent and a few veterans. Pieters and Cabrerra were a massive success. Far too much for young Fitzgerald. Struggled. Westwood just had no form heading in and hasn't been at his best for a while. Once again falling short in majors is taking its toll on him. He is fragile now and the Ryder Cup is no place for that. Rose never got his putter going all week. Willett has been a shadow of his former self after he pulled on that green jacket. That took a lot out of him mentally and in terms of focus. Wood and Sullivan didn't much of a look in to be fair. They had a lot of guys in form who were highly motivated.
I don't follow the golf but surely Trev should just use his powers to intervene, disqualify the US for unsporting behaviour and declare Europe the winners. Sorted.
