I like these signings. Both offer solid cover for a variety of positions. I don't know why everyone is so down on City. I'm confident that we're going straight back up. I'd be even more confident if we buy a better goalkeeper and sort out who is going to be our striker. Hopefully Jelavic will stay. We will see how good Robertson is, as he will play week-in week-out. Maguire will get his chance. Davies gets a chance to reboot. Dawson will be a class above in the Championship. Our midfield is still strong, even with Brady and Ince gone. At last we will get - eventually - to enjoy Snodgrass and Diame, because nobody will buy them so soon after returning from injury - especially as neither is likely to start the season. Meyler is a good fit for the Championship, Huddlestone will smash this level, and evergreen Elmo will be his usual, reliable self. Us and Middlesborough, first and second, (or second and first).
But I think we could easily not have Jel, Robertson, Hudd and Elmo come end-August, and Diame by end-Jan. Puts a different complexion on things. Hope I'm wrong.
