Both seem sensible deals. Taylor stays fit and we have a player on our hands. Fair to play to Bruce and the Allams. Bruce has got good money for Ince and Brady. Sad but inevitable. Unlike Phil Clown who sold Michael Turner for next to nothing.
Funnily enough, I've always thought Alex Bruce was a dead ringer for Finch please log in to view this image
Chesterfield fans are over the moon at getting £1.3m for Clucas, that's all we need to know. Not good enough.
Taylor's not the player he was. And he was never much of a player when he was as much of a player as the player he was. Still, he's wholehearted, got a point to prove and gives his all, so I hope that this is a gamble that pays off.
Taylor's best position is full back, he can play on the right or left(though right is his natural position), he can also play right wing, he's played centre back occasionally, but it's not really his position. He's slow, but decent technically, very committed(which is probably why he keeps injuring himself) and he takes a great free kick. Clucas is best playing LB/LWB, or up front as a second striker, he can play left wing, but it's he's weaker there than the other two positions. Chesterfield tended to play him in an attacking role, in a 4-2-3-1, with him on the left of the three. All info courtesy of local journo's(Newcastle and Chesterfield's, not ours).
Clueless journo's. Clucas is clearly a box to box centre mid who likes to get the ball down and play.
