Basically a lot of people thought John Terry was a w@nksock before any of his indiscretions came out in the press. When the stories did come out - it reaffirmed peoples beliefs and made them feel good that they were correct about him.
Same with Ashley Cole - he's just not likeable.
With Giggs, people already thought he was a nice guy and then the stories came out. Since people don't like to admit they were wrong, they just don't talk about it.
Simply put :
John Terry's story comes out = public reaction was "I knew it - he's a w@nker"
giggs story come out = public reaction was " I can't believe it - thought he's a nice guy"
