I think the reason Ryan was not called up is because Brendan told Roy he didn't want to sign him so didn't need him there for his players to turn his head.....

Ian Wright was saying on 606 yesterday that Bertrand isn't the 5th best LB in the country. Not when he's part of the best defence. That's a polite way of saying he should have been picked and probably as a first or second choice too.

I think the comment is innocuous enough but smart phones really need to be fitted with sensors that can detect when the owner is feeling angry, disappointed or overly emotional, and automatically lock out all social media for 24 hrs.

Think Ryan would be well advised to keep quiet in future and let his football do the talking?

From a form point of view I would put Bertie up there with Azpilicueta with English LBs not coming close.

    Talking about Asparagus..!

True story. When I was very young, the family would go out for an occasional drive in the New Forest, or just go through the forest on the way to Bournemouth, etc... Down in the southern bit there are quite a few more pheasants than might be expected. At times they are around every corner. It was the same back then. In those days, my Dad would spot one and steer towards it, crying... Dinner..! To which we'd all shout... Nooooo..! Of course the pheasant would fly away well before we got near.

I'm afraid to say that if he were alive today and was upto the same dinner shout, I'd be in the back going Yeah..! <laugh>

    Yeah, that one will do..!

A word on Smileys. If there is intended humour in a remark do use them. It saves any possible confusion. I remember back a year or two ago that we had to remind people to use them because members aren't telepathic [I'm certainly not] and can get the wrong idea.

Sorry to make so much of it, but misunderstandings are the main cause of grief on forums. Cheers.

EDIT: I see you snuck back and put one in..! :D
