Well this is just great news again. Our back four is strong, and our Portuguese combo are going to be brimming with confidence. Great stuff.
I was confident Ryan would stay because he's seen the grass isn't always greener. However, the reason this is so great is because it affirms, if anyone needed reassuring, that we're still looking to push on and improve despite Exodus number 16. He wouldn't sign an extension if this wasn't the case.
Absolutely, this would send a very positive message, and would simultaneously galvanise the squad through a shared commitment.
All been said, but this is really good news. Now, the question is, what position will he play, RCB in a 3 behind Targett, or RB?
All good, but not so worked about Long getting an extension. Not that I don't rate him as I do, but wouldn't be high on my list and if we are going to try stay top 6 or 4, we need to have a better option of who is leading the line. For me, we should be looking at a 15 goals a season player, which I'm not sure Shane is. Hope to be proved wrong. If we do persisit with this way then we will need to upgrade midfield as we will need lots more goals all round, midfield as in an attack mid roles
I wonder what deal will be presented to Shane? At 29, it makes it a little more difficult. Hope we can at least sort out an extension.
Maybe a years ext at most for Long in my view. They may give a longer one and look to move him on before it ends.
Anyone worried we'll get stuck with all these players on long deals and not be able to shift them on? . . I'm not
