You cant have great players on the bench, they'd get sick and ask to leave.

Barnetta would be your man. Can play RM(natural position), DM/CM & even LM at a push. <ok>

Your right but I'm not sure about this Ryad guy, he seems like a very HOT prospect but if he can't play ANYWHERE else than AM then I'll pass on him, but if he can be adapatable then fair enough(say he can play upfront or out wide). <ok>

This. Definitely. Sign him up I say, great player! Just because we are looking at him doesn't mean we won't also sign a striker and a LB.

I get your point about Barton, but the point is, he hasn't left. If we end up at a point where he does leave or if Pardew thinks it might happen then by all means get him. We have at least 5 good-quality CMs, as well as 2 versatile CAMs, and decent cover elsewhere. We need strikers. No one is against getting solid back-up but when people are unsure how much we have to spend, people want to see it go to places where we are desperately short, rather than decent areas. (BTW, thanks for the rep - I'll even return it if you agree with me haha ;))
