we do need a CM but we also need a proven goal scoring striker too, Welbeck is still young and Hernandez, we can't always rely on Rooney for goals, if we do get RVP that would be great.
RvP is pure class. He carried Arsenal all by himself, last season, people seem to forget that. without his goals Arsenal would have been fighting a relegation battle. He's leaving AFC because he knows they do not have the strength in depth to compete for anything. Hell, they only got 4th last season because Redknapp was too pre-occupied with his fantasies about lifting the World Cup for England to hold onto the 10 point lead we had over them, in 3rd, and even then they only finished a point ahead of us. I think Fergie should stick to his guns and offer no more than £8 million, because even that is taking the piss, given the fact that you can get him for nothing, this time next years. And I think he will hang on for you, too, simply to teach Whinger a lesson. Personally, I'd love for you to get RvP on a free, because it will be karma for when they took Sol Campbell of us for nothing. What goes round comes round, lads.
Yeah I find it very stupid of the spooners that they're lambasting RVP for wanting to go and win trophies labeling him mercenary scum etc etc yet when Sol does it - he's a legend.
We should remember that RvP had one fantastic season out of eight with Arsenal and that was when he was THE man there, will he be THE man at OT or will he be one of several where not every attack is directed at him. I think the way we play he would just be another attacking player in the team and not so effective as last year.
He would not be "the man" but Manchester United create a lot of chances and he is better than most at finishing them, i don't think paying 20 mil plus for him is a good idea though when we clearly need a quality centre mid. I kind of agree with HIAG but i would say 13-15 mil is a more fair price rather than 8 mil, must be fustrating for Arsenal fans they could be serious contenders with the signings they have made and RVP playing at his best. I must add that i believe there defence is **** they need to look at that if they want to be playing for the title, though this is just my opinion.
We do not need a midfielder. It would be nice but we have more than coped so far, we need a defender right now more.
RvP's record of staying fit should mean Fergie will only take him for nothing or next to. His record in the prem, games played goals scored is pretty lame actually from the time he's actually been in this league. A huge risk to depend on this man, and arsenal have won fk all with his services for how many years? One great season and a piss poor euros and all of a sudden he's Class. He was at the end of his peak last year but stayed fit to get some use of it, and it is all down hill from this point on, if Fergie spends 8m and the guy manages 6 games, thats a huge waste and also signing him is admitting Hernandez Welbeck Rooney are not good enough to overtake city, I tihnk the failings were not the strikers last year as close as it was, the defence and mid let united down when it mattered
Nonsense. Every word. Hes injury prone and has missed alot of games. Meaning like Giggs he probably has years left in him at the top level if he remains fit. Hes one of the best strikers about, just because he misses alot of games doesnt change that. Villa misses alot of games also, is he poor? And how on earth is it Fergie admitting the rest are not god enough? its adding genuine quality to an already formidable striking line. Complete nonsense.
By BBFs logic, LFC signing Allen is Rodgers admitting that Gerrard, Lucas, Hendersen etc are not good enough for them to catch the likes of Everton and Newcastle
Not really. Giggs is the exception not the rule. Most injury prone players retire early not go on for longer aka Ledley King. A fully fit RVP is brilliant but he's coming up to 30 now and has had a horrific injury record. Fergie would be stupid not to take that into account.
As of now and with no ability to look into the future its fair to say his injury worries are behind him and he has years left in him due to lack of game time in previous season. Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Beckham, P.Neville. Even RVN. Players who all played or are playing into their mid to late 30's and all at some point or still are at United. 30 is no longer the start of the slow down in a career, as a Chelsea fan you should know more than most considering a player aged 34 won single handedly won you the biggest prize in football ( you were not winning anything without him )
1. None of those players you mentioned have had anywhere near the injury record of RVP 2. Drogba's career has been extended due to starting football late. He was well into his 20's when playing competative top flight football. The polar opposite to say Torres who is struggling now cos he's been playing week in week out since about 17. 3. Drogba was amazing in the C.L final but so was Cole, Cech (3 pen saves) and others. Anything else???
Amazing? We have different views on what that means, you think it means lucky as ****, I think it means brilliant. Drogba aside who was amazingly annoying to the germans. Erm....Giggs had some fairly serious injury concerns, as did scholes, RVN did aswell. Next
and? If he had conceded them all yet made world class saves all game would he of been ****? Didnt say he wasnt good, just not amazing, hes not been amazing for years. Pretty average keeper tbh.
So when you say Drogba won us the C.L single handedly that was obviously bollox then which validates everything else you have said also being bollox. Next. Guess it must be the school holidays.
I said h won it because he did, and the FA Cup. Without him you win nothing, simple. Does that compute chav?
