Maybe if Rooney laid off the cakes and grannies and RvP managed to keep his cool they'd have more goals but Sturridge has 8 in 9 so far and Suarez 6 in 4. Compare your two any way you like and they don't match up.
Where does it say it's purely about football skills. It's asking about our opinion on the players and ALL things they do on the football pitch should be considered. Based on everything that matters, id rather have Suarez and Sturridge, more goals in less minutes, both are younger. Suarez is no saint, but Rooney has had his fair share of disciplinary problems on the pitch (like swearing in to camera lenses and getting frustrated and sent off). Both RVP and Rooney are past their peaks. Sturridge is only 24 and will probably improve, he is a far better striker already than the one we sold to Liverpool.
As someone who dislikes both clubs, it's Suarez and Sturridge for me. A better partnership even if the sum of the parts is arguably lower.
