Wouldn't at all be surprised to see Fellaini playing off Rooney in the Bayern game. I guess you have the option of Rooney playing off Welbeck as well? I'd say Kagawa but he's been froze out hasn't he?
I agree with this, up to a point. In the league this will certainly be the case but on Wednesday against Olymiopiacos Rooney put in a hell of a shift as an advance attacking CM rather than a 10, giving Carrick and Giggs some much needed impetus. Can't see Kagawa doing likewise in Europe or indeed Maya in the league. So, say Welbeck goes as No.9 and Rooney stays as he was it's Welbeck that Mata or Kagawa are replacing, and we know fine well that both seem unable to adapt and play the wider role. Nor do they have the pace.
