Unfortunately for us, decisions by the referee heavily influenced the outcome of this match.
It's a shame. France didn't have a shot from open play in the first half, and they scored two goal. We've clearly outplayed them but still ended the half one goal behind. That suited France who could play like they prefer, on the counter, and our players quickly tired chasing the game, which France used to kill the match and in the end, looking at the result, it seems like there was no contest. And the truth is far from it.
But still, whole country is celebrating.
France were the better side overall, controlled the game in the 2nd half, and were deserved winners
Croatia were unlucky with the decisions for France's first two goals though. And the scoreline was harsh - so some justicce that Lloris' howler made it a bit more respectable.

Lovren didn't have a better tournament that either Alderweireld or Vertonghen. He didn't even have a better tournament than Vida.
You have to throw Vertonghen’s **** defending against Japan into the mix. That was a shocker. I am happy to have Vida or Alderweireld ahead of Lovren, however Lovren did make one of the best bit of defending in the tournament with the tackle/clearance on Kane. I do think he was ahead of Vertonghen. Sadly I don’t recall a Lovren cock up
Tbf Lovren had a good tournament, until he opened his mouth.
But I begrudge him everything.
Let's hope he has used up all his limited skills at the WC and will be back to his prattish best for Liverpool.
