Strange how things work out. RL gave us the present academy buildings and our stadium, but then it went pear shaped. However, our assets were part of the reason that we could attract a top class owner like Markus. A bargain, ML said (in German obviously). Not everything Rupert did was wrong, but he didn't have Cortese's financial acumen or financial backing. Your past is what brings you to the present and we are having the time of our lives.
I totally agree with this. I know most people hate Lowe but without the infrastructure that he gave us we would be well, Portsmouth! I think it was the post-Lowe people who caused many of the problems. Spent way too much money. And thank goodness we didn't sell to Sisu as so many people wanted.
All very true. He did do some things right and the price paid for the club was an absolute bargain.
