So its now over 0 0, it seemed a one sided match, but we failed to score, somewhat disappointed, still thats me suppose I was looking for a rout. Would like to hear some views,of those who watched it.
I didn't see the game (although we are promised video highlights on the club wesite soon apparently). I'm disappointed with the draw (obviously) but one possible positve about it is that now Jol has seen for himself how we play away and how we sometimes just can't seem to win even against lower league opposition (no offence intended to our erstwhile opponents) and hopefully he'll have picked up some idea as to what the problem is to enable him to solve it.
Like Penguin, I didn't see the game, but I'm not worrying too much about our failure to break Runavik down. Don't forget the players are still at the pre-season friendly stage of building up match fitness. With the result in no serious doubt, this was about being professional, seeing the job through and building fitness. And in any case, the stats of the game suggest that we made plenty of chances. Another day we could have won this by a comfortable margin. Let's not be complacent (I'd have taken a very different view if the first leg had finished 0-0), but I'm still optimistic about what is still to come.
There was a quote by MJ re: last nights match,in which he said that when one has that many chances against a team like that (no disrespect ) you should score a few, still it gave me an insight as to what we need to do. Maybe what he saw was a blessing, and one he will soon to rectify.
Too true rosc. Jol's telling comments were, "".. we have to be more creative and come up with solutions." and " In a game of this sort you need players who make a difference and we didn't have that last night."
