I suppose the reason I raised the subject is I just find it a little annoying that on the back of a successful start to the season for the Gills, along with a lack of general chat about those successes, that we find the need to start circulating these rumours.
What I would love now is for Martin Allen or more importantly for Danny Kedwell to come forward and say something to the contrary, at least it then gives us some sort of measure of credibility of the outlets of such rumours.
People might argue that rumours are what they are rumours, yes, I get it, deadline day and rumours for the fun of it, but unless there is truth and I have certainly seen absolutely nothing to substantiate it, I would argue rumours such as these can be very damaging to team confidence, so why would people circulate such stuff?

There is no sign that Keds or Allen have even heard the rumour so how can they come out and deny it? Admittedly being based "oop norf" I don't get all the rumours circulating unless they are covered in the press but judging by the more local Gills fan reactions this isn't a widely known rumour so the chances that the club is even aware of it are extremely low.
You ask how such a rumour can become public but yourself have mentioned it on two media sites, readily available to thousands of Gils fans. Not a criticism merely a point of fact. Personally I don't give this type of rumour any creedence seeing that it has no source, apart from "a mate (in this case brb) told me" and those sorts of rumours don't tend to come true.
