No, it isn't, they did play it dirty. I just wish I could blame them for the injury but I can't...<erm> I mean it ought to be their fault. In fact it is their fault. Mata got in Lucas's way!
God I hope this is not so, it would be a bit hit on our points tally at the end of the season, no lucas no CL next year for sure
So much doom and gloom......Lets hope Jay Spearing doesnt read these pages and see his own fans writing him off before he has come on...When has he ever let us down? I have faith that Kenny will have the team dealing with the loss for whatever period and that Spearing will come in and do us proud...
2 years ago I would never thought a thread of this kind would exist. Lucas the saviour of Liverpool.!!! However,he will be a big loss I watched him against City and he was awesome so lets hope its not too bad and get well soon young man.
ACL does have the potential for 6 months unfortunately, you can see from the replays he did the classic turn and snap, it could be MCL though which is less intense. Hopefully it's the latter, because i'm not sure Spearing can cover for a full season. I'm not writing him off before he performs, but Lucas would be hard to replace by anyone, let alone a youth player.
Well Spearing's 23 now, so he's hardly a youth player. Hopefully it turns out to be a blessing in disguise and Jay gets a good run in the team and performs well. But obviously I hope Lucas isn't out long too.
I snapped my ACL with an impact injury, so definitely can happen, Hopefully not the case for Lucas tho.
Ay, good point, but I somewhat still consider him a youth player as he has only played seriously for the youth and reserves before, not having stepped up this much in his whole career. Even at the end of last season, we weren't fighting for anything except pride, so the pressure was alleviated. Hopefully he does step up, this is his chance. I think he might, he played some great passes the other day and his energy is boundless. Unfortunately his size might be a stumbling block but who knows?
I think it was Lucas himself who tweeted a journo yesterday saying he reckons himself he will be out for 6 months. Shame if true , cos hes a top, top player Jay or Hendo need to step up 2 the plate. This is Jays chance to make it " at Liverpool" its up to him
He didn't tweet anything of the sort. The tweet he did was pretty upbeat, thinking it wasn't too serious. You don't go off for treatment and then come back on again with a torn cruciate ligament, which is what happened.
Liverpool Recall Shelvey It looks likely that Lucas will be out for longer rather than a short period if we've recalled Jonjo from Blackpool. Presumably Gerrard's rehabilitation isn't proceeding as quickly as hoped following the infection... I wonder, or suspect, that rather than play Spearing in CM, Kenny is looking at attack the best form of defence and going with Adam and Shelvey in CM berths. If so, its a very bold move, as while Adam has shown a marked improvement in performances defensively, he's not Lucas.
Sort of - I have disclocated my knee a few times and that causes ligament damage as the patella yanks them around, but the worst was a snapped achillies tendon (like a thick ligament! ) that was a nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone (mmmm... maybe Rooney - this is a JOKE for all you Utd trolls on our board!)
Nonononono not Lucas Spearing would do a good job but that doesn't mean I would prefer him there over our Lucas. Lets just see how bad it is first I've done my knee twice, on landing my knee cap popped sort of up into my thingh rather than out forwards the way it should. I was in a brace for 6 weeks to keep the leg straight, awful it is. The knee was even worse than when some dirty ****er broke my ankle (even though I heard the bone break ), the knee one made me throw up instantly on the pitch, not nice When I play now my ankle I broke is always very stiff the next day but my knee seems to be alright and seems to have healed stronger touch wood
Exactly. You wouldn't even be able to walk if you'd done that, no two ways about it. Especially if you're a professional fottball player (who seem to pick up injuries more easily than most sportsmen.)
That's horrendous news and certainly not what I was expecting. That really is a serious blow to our aspirations. I really don't know what to say. I don't understand how he could have gone to the side of the pitch for treatment and then walked back on. It's to be hoped he gets well soon and makes a FULL recovery.
