if there's no-one we want available thats life. I don't think anyone bar messi could get us 4th at this stage anyway.

I think we would have had a serious chance to push if we'd brought someone in to create a bit of buzz, don't get me wrong the club is buzzing after our 2 latest results but it will soon go sour again if we don't beat Wolves and the Window shuts the same night.

We'll just have to hope Suarez comes back with a bang and Gerrard starts feeding those magical passes.

Latest rumours are of us trying to loan Tevez in for the remainder of the season only. Lets us pressure man city's rivals, boost Tevez's value for them in preparation for a summer sale and hopefully pushes us into 4th. Doubt we'd be able to agree wages though and not sure Tevez would want to play for us, even for a few months. I'd be happy with this deal though.

The Carroll/Tevez swap was apparantly a joke rumour by a uni student trying to see how far it would carry. Either way, it's bullshit. No way would we try to flog him after a year, the fact that he started against united shows Kenny has faith in him still and his performance that night certainly would have strengthened that. He's going nowhere.

    ---------Carroll---------
    Suarez-Tevez-Bellamy
    ---Gerrard-Spearing---

That'd get us top 4 all right!

sure we're only 6 point soff and how many on the spuds?

chelsea and arsenal and newcastle all look better than us and more consistent despite many issues.

We could go on to win 4th by having a great run usre but....

its is unlikely to happen based o nthe games we've played so far this year... we won't get 70 points and thats the mark we need to get minimum... Not the end of the world guys, we have two cup runs going. especially not when after city calmed down with the kaka and robinho rubbish and bought better it still took them some years to get to 4th.

No-one is saying we will get fourth- just that it's certainly within reach and far too early to write it off.
I too think an exciting signing could have given us the extra impetus needed but if it doesn't happen, then let's see if we can do it with the lads we've got. They're good enough, if only we can start putting away a few more goals.

This. We have a graet chance to make a signing or two and fianlly surpass Chelsea and Arsenal for that 4th spot, especially as they don't look like buying or improving either.

13.05 GMT QPR have now agreed a €5 million transfer fee with Lazio for former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.

I for one will be giving him a good reception. Really thought and hoped Cisse would make it and he loved the club and had the passion for it as well.

Looking forwards to 17th March then! So long as the back line is well drilled and Cisse is in the team, Reina should be able to have the night off - Cisse was so bad timing his runs, it was embarrassing for a 'professional footballer' to be caught off so frequently...

If he had not had the leg breaks and we had kept him, I honestly thought he could be our Drogba/Eto'o but it wasn't to be. He was better than the Drog in France as well. I remember he got married in liverpool and everythign was red, his suit, etc. Plus who can forget his hair/beard styles!

:emoticon-0159-music I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes :emoticon-0159-music

:emoticon-0159-music I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
With flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a new born baby it just happens every day :emoticon-0159-music

:emoticon-0159-music I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and must have it painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facin' up when your whole world is black :emoticon-0159-music

Clearly the offside trap wasn't being practised in France! His runs were bloody awful - he was YARDS offside almost every time and his finishing lacked composure - why the hell else did Rafa play him as a winger(where he had the advantage of being able to look along the line) more than a front man ???

For some reason, I can't remember that many offsides! ( could be that I am a bit hungover but still)

    I do remember:

14.33 GMT Fulham are hoping to complete a deal for Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios, according to reports. Barrios, a Paraguay international, has fallen out of favour at Signal Iduna Park in recent times. Full story

Fed up with our management's transfer dealings. I'd like to think they're not making transfers because there's no one to sign but that's blatantly not the case. Clearly just not willing to admit that Carroll was a huge **** up and signing a replacement (for all intensive purposes) would be an admission of their **** up

Barrios is seriously good, Honda would give our midfield so much more guile than it currently has ( let alone increase our sales numbers in Asia massively, probably enough income from that to cover Honda and Barrios purchases). It is remarkable. I really hope Kenny has a trick up his sleeve for the last day. If not, here is to winning two cups!

With the likes of Sow, Cisse (Papiss) and Barrios all available, and Helmes too I believe, we can hardly say 'there isn't the value in the market' or 'the right players weren't available' which is the usual January excuse.
If Barrios goes for less than 10m, we've missed another trick. Both Sow and Cisse went for around that figure. Both would have added something to our squad.

I know everyone will have an opinion, some say KK is right and others will say we are being foolish, it's all good, we all have opinions on what we think is best. But I just don't see why we aren't pushing out for a little bit extra, if we get 4th and CL, it will practically all pay for itself. We are so close and I feel a fresh signing would help boost our confidence that bit more.

Sow even came out and said " Liverpool, now that would be a dream". ****, offer them Cole and 5 mil, something I would have thought!

Barrios would be a good signing for us and he would not cost crazy money either, I don't think we will sign anyone in this window but for all the people we have been linked with and actually have a realistic chance of signing I think Barrios and Marin would improve our team the most out of all them and I would hope we would be looking to get them in the summer.
