FOOTBALL: Rangers have reportedly rejected a bid from West Ham for striker Nikica Jelavic. The offer from the Championship leaders failed to meet the Scottish champions' valuation of the Croatian. Don't do it comolli, bigger and better fish out there!
So Uruguay the new Spain for us? Liverpool are locked in talks with FC Groningen for striker David Texeira. The 20 year-old Uruguayan is being linked with a move to Liverpool before next week's transfer deadline. And Dutch sources say a Liverpool delegation were in Holland on Monday to hold talks with Groningen over a fee for the youngster. Liverpool acted after scouts ran the rule over him in action against Heracles Almelo. The Reds are currently exploring the prospect of work permit success for Texeira. and......... Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is being linked with a shock move for Barcelona flop Alex Hleb. The Daily Mail says Dalglish is weighing up a move for former Arsenal midfielder Hleb. It has already been widely reported that QPR are interested in the 30-year-old. The Belarussian has endured a torrid time since leaving Arsenal for Barcelona in 2008. Dalglish is considering his options in the final few days of the transfer window. The Reds have faced some difficult times this season, but it could still be a successful campaign. Would be good I feel.... http://tribalfootball.com/articles/valencia-fear-losing-pablo-hernandez-liverpool-2656431
15.24 GMT Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is hoping to land Liverpool's young winger Raheem Sterling on loan, according to the Daily Mail. Coyle will face competition from Swansea City and West Ham United should the Reds decide to loan him out.
Can only see the Hernandez one being speculation from bored jounos. Seems the best link of those though. Hleb...
The hleb one I just laughed at..... I really don't think we are going to get anyone, maybe the David Teixeira fella but that's it.
Actually I take that back....... 17.34 GMT Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre claims the club have money to spend in the transfer window but nobody they need to sign. "Money is not an issue," Ayre said. "If an opportunity presents itself I am sure we will look at it, but right now it's about keeping going. We have got some great players in a great squad of players."
FOOTBALL: Turkish side Fenerbahce have Senegal striker Moussa Sow on a four-and-a-half-year deal. Missed one here I think, they like Cole, Sow said he would love to come to us, can finish, good pace and strength. and would have been right at around 10 mil pounds. Shame.
I thought we wanted to expand into Asia? Also a player we could use! 12.25 GMT: CSKA Moscow attacker Keisuke Honda is closing on a move to Serie A side Lazio, despite the Japanese saying that Italy can no longer claim to have the best league in the world. Full story.
Starting to annoy me how players are slipping past us. Any one of these would have improved out squad for not too much.
Key part, for around 20 million we could have easily had a creative midfielder and striker who offer many things we lack right now and are class. Ah well.
beggars belief that we could have had Sow, Honda and another player or two for the same price as Carroll.
Don't remind me!! He just doesn't look interested at all and I can't help but think back to when we signed him, his first ****ing words out of his mouth were " Tell Newcastle fans I did not want to leave, I wanted to stay at Newcastle" I think we bought someone who is not only going to fight for the red shirt but doesn't even want to be in it.
What do you guys think about the reports linking us to Cavani? If true then it would be a spectacular signing for us, he's a top top player and would massively improve any team in the league. I'm not sure if there is any truth in the stories but we can hope.
I can give my 2 pence when there are links and a story behind these rumours...especially with "quotes".
The only thing I have seen on this rumour is the one on the official site which is written by "sportsnewsireland", it has no quotes in it at all though
Ah, we wallopped all of Manchester with what we've got. The big challenge is stabilising & commitment; we sometimes go into those "less important" games without the absolute commitment to win that Liverpool is used to playing with. I don't mind if we don't sign anyone, just that we get that balance & we keep enjoying playing to win.
