It is a bit more complex than that Didley.
I read recently that at least 10 youngsters have been poached off us during their development by Premier league teams. And they can do that...and we get a minimal payment in response!

Which is why we needed a proper academy and training centre.. as we can hold the young players better

However I do agree that the final development is lacking.. we have had a number of stellar youngsters that seem to fade and die... Bettache, Duke-McKenna, Alfa jump to mind in the recent past.

They get to a certain level and then fade.

We don't get enough out of our buy-in youngsters either.

Smythe, Kelman, Masterson, Washington for example.

Really only Eze, BOS and Furlong have really worked....possibly Manning too

There is a problem in the lower coaching I would say...and that extends to the upper coaching obviously too
10 over how many years

We had Harvey Elliot in our academy as a kid. He was then poached by Fulham, who sold him to Liverpool as a 16 year-old for £4.3m.

There's little point in having an academy if PL clubs can just take their pick of your best prospects for little compensation.

And every other team at our level and below is in the same boat

Can understand...but just be careful what we wish for

My concern too Beth. We've surely learnt, from the many many changes in the last fifteen years, that a change in personnel isn't always the solution.

I think the rots deeper than les

Agreed, but then does it require a lot more people to go and start again with a whole new team? Or re-structuring the club so it works from both a financial and football side?

All just feels a bit cyclical. Many were pleased when Wright, Tango, Bernie and others high up left their positions, but it's seemingly made little or no difference.

Ask yourselves how Luton on a smaller budget have gone from the National League to the brink of the Premier League within a decade? Our whole set-up is flawed and will remain so whilst we continue with the current regime...

We can all get together in a select Gentleman’s Club and plan how to take on, and eliminate, £50m of debt, rescue the club and set out a 4-yr plan back to the holy grail of the Premier League.

We would have had plans to make you our first Chairwoman Beth. Your investment is however welcome - you are certain to get a very high return… sometime.
