1980EasterRoad We're talking shoes here man. If you have no useful input then kindly desist. I haven't got a notion what you are talking about in your first sentence. If you applied the second sentence all the time I am afraid we would have very little to read.
You have been saying 3rd division since the start though Gambol. Every Rangers fan I talk to has. Even with no penalties, sporting integrity has to come first, its why athletes caught doping have to serve such long bans. If not what is the point really, why shouldn't Celtic sign Ronaldo, Messi, Iniesta and a few others next season, win the SPL and with that squad maybe the Champions League, then afterwards go into admin, write off the debt involved and get SPL membership with a more humble squad?
This is by far the most potent argument and one which Uefa would have to give consideration to. 1. Uefa are committed to football and sporting integrity to the extent that they have forced the hand of the Swiss FA to punish its 4(not one or 2) major revenue earners in the Super League of that country. 2. Permitting Celtic to move on the grounds of lack of integrity in the SPL and SFA would re-inforce their stance and prove to clubs in bigger leagues how far they are willing to go to enforce FFP, especially since tax evasion is involved and appears to be condoned by the domestic league authorities in permitting a Newco direct entry to the top league. Seems to contradict everything they are doing in Switzerland if they simply ignore Newco in SPL. 3. Means that Uefa cannot be perceived as punishing one of Europes most financially prudently run clubs, which they would have to do with a national European club ban on Scottish football. Given the offending club have not met the criteria to play in Europe for 3 years any ban would not punish them, yet would punish a prudent club. At first I thought this rumour was mince, but, giving it more consideration.........Uefa can argue that Celtic would be trapped in a corrupt league, if Newco are allowed in and certainly the delays in terms of voting seem to indicate that, but furthermore Celtic could also argue that their manager has been subjected to attempted nail bomb attacks, 7 people have been imprisoned for attacks on him and 3 members of an SFA panel have been give advice by Strathclyde Police on protecting themselves from threats...................the recent carry on against Bill Miller could only reinforce this argument, given the emails etc. I am now 50/50 on this matter and would not be terribly surprised if it came about.
