I'm useless at posting pictures and I'm biased as have spent many happy half cut hours in it but for me the HK Stadium was / is great and its a 40k capacity Link is here even if pics arent that great http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/stadium/hks/en/index.php
I think steep stands make it even better for other things like concerts were you don't want to be too fast away. We could either fill in the corners or make the stands bigger but with less angle but still having the steepest stands in Britain.
That boavista one looks great. Just the type we should look for, but as others have said the concrete corners don't look brilliant. Also the schalke one without the concrete walls right next to the pitch.
If you want steep and close to the pitch then look no further than the Imtech Arena in Hamburg. My personal favourite and the one I use on FIFA 13 Ultimate team please log in to view this image With people in it (takes 57000 for German league matches and 51500 for international/european games because of the safe standing rules) please log in to view this image
The stadium I'm sure Philip Beard and Co will look at is the GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands. It has a rectractable roof and a natural pitch than can be wheeled out of the stadium for concerts etc. It has the same corners as the Boavista stadium and takes 25000 for football matches and 34000 for concerts. But as we've been through earlier in this thread, let the architects do their work and remove the corners and we'll have a capacity of aprox 40000. well seeing as we are posting pictures of our favourite stadiums again, here's my shout. Lets go for broke. Lucas Oil Stadium Indianapolis. Steepen stands a bit, move them closer to pitch, reduce overall footprint. This seats 60K, its a cauldron roof open or closed.
Funny you should post that Stan as it's probably my #1 as well. I absolutely love it! The clue though as you say, it was very expensive. The construction cost in 2005 was a whooping $720 million ($768 million in 2013 dollars). And it's been loosing money ever since it was built because of the huge construtcion and maintenance costs. I wasn't posting my favourite stadiums all round, just trying to find good ones that was within our capacity and budget range. But maybe it is, what do I/we know? Have you been there by the way? I hear the atmosphere is exceptional. Seen lots Colts games on the TV and even on there it sounds great. It's enormous! please log in to view this image
