The Tuesday after the Reading game TF met with Harold and according to Tony they went through the squad, agreeing who they want to get rid of and where they need to strengthen. I would assume at that meeting they would also they would also have discussed budgets. After it Harold came out with the 'great fans'; 'best owners I have worked with' stuff. Since then its all been 'hopefully' he has the owners support, 'we'll see what happens' regarding the future and talking down the value of the players that he has to sell, I hope, in order to buy.

This is what is driving me round the bend. I don't rate him as a high class manager, but would be fine if he just shut his mouth, or when he opened it made positive noises about rebuilding, going for it next season, enjoying the challenge. He doesn't even have to pretend it will be easy. He knows he has the support of Tony, but I'm thinking he is doubting his own ability to turn things round or doesn't fancy the hard work it will involve. Hence the 'I don't need this aggravation [from players]' and 'I'm ok for money, retirement wouldn't be a problem' after his pay cut was made public.

And what 'assurances' does he expect? A blank cheque? I for one hopes he doesn't get it and if he stays that he is given tough performance targets around spending, league position and squad discipline.

I hope he walks, very soon.

What's the odds Rosie got Harry to curl one out in the CP changing rooms?

I think we all know who's pulling the strings in that relationship... ;)

there's no way Brighton would go for an 'old school' manager like Harry.

I'm very disapointed by the way Harry is and has been representing our club. He was the obvious candidate at the time, not any longer. But going from Harry to Poyet is the same as going from bad to worse. Must not happen or the likes of Bosingwa and Barton will thrive.

Here is what Vicente said about Poyet:
“the worst person I’ve come across in football”.

The departing Spanish star has branded Poyet “selfish” and “egocentric”.

And he has accused the Uruguayan of mocking his players in training.

Vicente, who played in the Champions League and La Liga for Valencia and was capped 38 times by Spain, said “He is the worst person I’ve come across in football. “For example, he deceived me when he said I could go and then he didn’t let me. I was four months out injured and he wasn’t capable of coming up and asking how I was.

“For me he is a selfish person, very egocentric. I say that because it’s how I feel.

“I won’t talk badly about my team-mates, because they have been fantastic with me. What I think is unacceptable is that the manager makes fun of his players. I’ve seen things here that I have never seen in my career. If you miss with a shot in training, he makes fun. For me, that is unacceptable in football.”

And with the suspension after the Palace debacle he is obviously not for us imo.

If he does go, mark my words he won't say anything about his flaws. He'll only dish loads of dirt out on us.

Fair enough SB...I get where you are coming from. It can be annoying hearing his random comments and his forever changing tune, but Harry has always been a bit like that in my book. I guess I expected this type of thing from him since the day we hired him, so am not surprised or annoyed at the press conferences and quotes.

I cant really knock him for his comments about aggravation from some of the players or the comments about money...I dont really see any issue with either of these comments. I would however like to see a more upbeat Harry, talking up the future/youth/training/players/board...whatever....anything would be good at the moment considering the cr@p we have had to put up with of late...certainly not disagreeing on that front!!

Its pretty clear to see that the fans (based on our sample from this board) are split 50/50 on whether he should stay or go, so I would expect to see many more similar discussions and debates on the subject!

I hope he stays for the fight and sorts us out, very soon ;)

i will be upset if harry goes . Most of us wanted harry and i was one of them. We must give him time to get it right, and if harry goes i do not want Poyet. First something went wrong at Brighton and second he is Chelsea through and through and i do not want Chelsea man running r club.

He is perfect for us, all of our players need a kick up the arse. I cant believe a player is whining because he was made fun of. That happens in every team, its a part of team spirit.

The suspension is because he criticised someone for smearing **** on the walls. Now how is that the wrong thing to do? Id want our manager to do that. Only the scum would defend that kind of action.

Harry has got to be given the chance to turn things round for us and I think he will.

As for Poyet, I've got to agree with Quinny, there are a few reasons I wouldn't want him, not least because of his connection to the Scum. If we were to change manager, I'd much rather we went for someone like Karl Robinson who is young, ambitious, hungry for success and a QPR fan.

Although if Poyet was appointed he'd probably bring "Charlie" Anthony Philip David Terry Frank Donald Stanley Gerry Gordon Stephen James Oatway with him and you don't get any more of a QPR fan than that......

Harry now 16-1 for the Everton job, but it's a long drive from Sandbanks

I am with Quinny and 247. No more Scum at our club. Very few have ever made an impact, most have been like Boswanker.

That sort of attitude would have prevented two of our finest managers coming to Loftus Road; both Dave Sexton and Terry Venables had links to Chelsea.

The suspension is because he refused to deal with the retained list - nothing to do with 'poogate'

I'm sure it's a factor, but comments made were just after playoff loss - when emotions running high. Would be extreme to say the least to suspend someone for just expressing frustration and intimating they would not be there for ever. Has been widely discussed on Brighton boards (with people who are more knowledgeable than me) that things have been difficult for a while, and that GP refused to deal with the retained list i.e. the contract extensions, who will stay go etc. Club released the contract news to the official site and it's obvious it wasn't Gus who made the decisions since he was suspended.

I guess it will all come out in the wash!
