Interesting that swans conceded on Saturday by a high ball to the back post where Olsson was beaten to the header, a consistent problem when he was with us too. If we get this guy it may cut out that weakness?
I saw Olsson like a poor man's Ashley Cole , small fast and good at getting forward but not physically tall enough for defending in the box from headers.

That's what i want to know, General. Been waiting all day for news that we've signed Zeegelaar. I'm beginning to lose hope for that one.

AN claims that NCFC dont have to sell Brady. So how do they fund the purchase of new players? Assuming that the Olsson sale will fund his replacement then it would appear that if we don't sell Brady then we can't expect any further additions to the squad?

If we don't sell Brady, that's the left back position sorted <whistle>

I think the key is in the words 'have to sell'. AN has been clear that every player has a price and also that none of the interested clubs have got close to the asking price for Brady (ie. we're still in the negotiation phase). He describes a potential 'domino effect' in the Pinkun today - once the first deal is done others will follow in succession.

Like CanarySpring, I'm also beginning to lose hope about Zeegelaar - perhaps the interest from Marseilles has thrown a spanner into the works. It may be time for plan B in the form of James Meredith who we were linked with earlier:

"Meredith primarily plays as a left-back, although he has been described as being "versatile" and is able to play at centre-back or in midfield. After signing for York in 2009, manager Martin Foyle described him as being "a very attack-minded, left-footed full-back with pace who can play the ball out from the back"."

Jem Karacan playing as a trialist for the u23s this week...

I can also remember him playing well at Reading, but he left for Galatasaray some 2 years back. He was at Reading for 7 years, including their year in the PL in 2012-13 when he played 21 times. At 27, he should be at the peak of his career if it works out, but on a free he could provide good back up for Howson with Dorrans injured and a back up for Dorrans after that.
