The way it's started you have a chance of reaching it Toppy. The teams chasing these big handicaps need to get out the blocks flying for you to have a chance, and they have
Go on Namibia, only a 44 point defeat! Apart from the first 10 minutes the 77 points never looked under any threat. The team of amateurs even got a try against the mighty all blacks
A lot of European ancestry down in Namibia Shergy, from your homeland to Portuguese and Germans . They weren't kicked off the field anyway and scored so they can take plenty of positives away from that going forward.
Ah right fair enough, I was thinking there are more English looking guys than there are in the England team
Have to hand it to Steve Hansen "tonight was a special occasion against a team we have never played before. We're now going to have a few quiet beers and spend quality time with them in the dressing room. That's the important thing to do this evening - we can review perfomances and tactics in the morning". Nice touch I thought and good to see class, generosity and camaraderie still factor into professional sport now and again..
Yep, cricket, the inventors of the childish thing called sledging. Bunch of ****heads sometimes.....................
RWC truly gets down to business today. Ferocious test match at Twickenham and a close one. Cannot wait!
Things look pretty good for England going into the game. Home field is a huge advantage with England losing only 2 of the last 15 encounters, and with what looks a nice solid set of forwards. Wales might be able to win a turn over or two in general play, and may even manage a steal at the England lineouts, but the home side's fanatical support might just see them home. But the World Cup is a great leveller. Gatland said a couple of days ago that his Welsh side intend to go out and smash bodies. These two old foes will probably go at it hammer and nails from the outset so it will be a cracker of a game. It would be nice if there was only a handful of points in it with 10 minutes to go. Gatland's boys are going to throw every they have at England, it will be a fierce old affair. Don't ya' just love World Cup Rugby?
A Southern Softy friend of mine texted me last night to advise me of the best bet in the public school boy version of Rugby this weekend. Apparently, “a Welsh Rugby Union lesson is coming” as for England there is “a Russell Crowe bum boy who played ****da rugby league at centre” so we should take the handicap (+8) for the Taffs. Hopefully that will provide as exciting a finish as Super League did on Friday night with Leeds Rhinos beating Huddersfield Giants 20-16 with the last play of the game to secure the League Leaders’ Shield and a home semi-final next week. I suspect not.
Sam Burgess might have a nasty surprise in store for some sides. He will be a marvellous player in time if he sticks with rugby union but he is one of the most highly respected players in Rugby League and if you want to watch a lesson in tackling then watch how he and Jamie Roberts handle one another head on tonight. He is a potential game changer but also a potential risk.
Agree, Roberts v Burgess could be some spectacle. Just would like to have seen Slamming Sam show a bit more more at club level first. Nervous times in my household as the Welsh side of the family could be bleeding unbearable at around 10pm.
These handicap markets can make you look extremely silly but I like Wales chances to cover the +9 at Evens.
The Welsh are looking like sheep in headlights so far tonight. They don't look comfortable under this amount of pressure
Can't get into this rugby lark. Too much groping and trying to shag anyone they can. Got a lovely still on the TV; wish I could have captured it and posted. Would have been a great contender for a caption contest
