Does the winner avoid the All Blacks in the quarters? I haven't spent much time looking at the permutations for the later rounds.

Marketing triumph, all the games look close to sellout. They've put the less attractive ones at smaller grounds so the atmosphere is still good.

Latest World Cup odds make interesting reading:

    NZ 11/10
    Eng 6/1
    Aus 7/1
    SA 7/1
    Ire 8/1
    Fra 10/1
    Wal 14/1

That makes England favourites against Australia next week, Australia may be worth a punt in that match...

    Those odds are well off.

France and the Aussies are worth a punt.

Very true. Sour grapes wasn't my intention. Wales deserved their victory for the way they they played under pressure.
I've said all along that I didn't think England were quite there yet.
Ireland look the best bet from the Northern Hemisphere.

Hello mate. I trust you're well?

You're right, you did have it tough in the past and someone had to draw the short straw this time around.

Wow! Argentina in the quarters? Massive incentive to win the group and head for the semis.

The Argies are a much-improved team, they'll give either France or Ireland a really tough game, it's no gimme...

There's no way they would beat this Ireland team in a WC quarter imo.

Agree, but they can give anyone a decent game and knock them about a bit.

Enjoyed what I've seen today, this is a great tournament. Highlight for me were the massive hits the Yanks were putting in on the Scots in the first half of their game. Good for the Scots for their half time turnaround.

    All good Col
Changed jobs so been off the radar for ages.
It's now crunch time for England. One big big performance and they can still make it. I fancied Wales pre tournament but they've been devastated by injuries and no doubt they will suffer more in the comimg weeks. The Aussies are very strong. It will take a monumental effort to beat them.
Ireland are cruising but the France game is 50-50 at best.

They've done it before to us more than once. And we've never been past the quarters so there might be a mental barrier to overcome there.

Still, I'd prefer them to New Zealand!
