Australia's offensive play, the movement in open play, was mesmerising in the first 20. I'm expecting that for 80 next Saturday, and however much England say they will be prepared (and I did like the understated attitude shown by Dylan Hartley in his post match interview), I can't see that they will be. This will go down to the third and final test imo
If our forwards can get and maintain their dominance a bit earlier, the Aussies will suffer. and of course we still need to work on discipline. I liked Eddie Jones' comment that the performance 'wasn't good enough'.
When the Aussies run at you, like the All Blacks, it's like an ordered disorder, at intense pace and really hard to defend against. It was to an extent their ill discipline that cost them the match, although take nothing from England's determined performance that at times showed encouraging flair. I think the Australian performance will be more disciplined next Saturday. Huge pride is at stake, I think they're too good a team with the likes of Hooper, Pocock and Foley to lose the next one. Still think it'll come down to the third.
Another predictable result in Wellington, All Blacks hit the afterburner second half. In Melbourne a titanic battle underway, England a nose ahead, could get even more brutal second half, these players are right on the edge. Great stuff.
WTF has Eddie Jones done to make Robshaw look so good? Need the forward replacements on now, this is gruelling.
Done it! Truly outstanding. Incredible defence, incredible spirit. Wallabies spurned a couple of kicks going for tries, could have cost them dear, but to keep them to no points second half with the amount of ball they had must be some kind of record. Lovely comments from Eddie on Robshaw and Haskell. All the players over chatting with the England fans. Brilliant. No mercy now, let's make it 3-0. Only downside the completely crap Sky commentary. Made me long for Eddie Butler and Brian Moore, which is something I never thought I'd say. Big day for Ireland in both codes, best of luck in both lads.
The sweetest thing about this victory to secure this series win, is that it gives the Aussies a huge kick in the teeth for their disgraceful treatment of Jones and the English team. The video they made ( see link below ) was unsporting and unnecessary. Just like the Welsh players who gave it Johnny big bollocks before playing England at the Euro's. Fabulous and historic series win by England. Resilient to the last. Full credit to Jones in getting the best out of every player. The Aussies played well, Pocock was missed, but still they must be scratching their heads at what happened. Still can't fathom why they don't chip away at the score by kicking easy penalties. Probably wouldn't have made any difference today
