Better sack Woy and bring in an Aussie for the footie as well - but not until after the Euros please! We will need all the luck going in the Group Stage!
Agree, but there may be some rule about using sufficient care in those situations. Not a citing incident in my opinion. I did notice England using the boot a lot more at the breakdown than I have spotted before, perhaps it's an Eddie thing, or perhaps I haven't been looking very closely in the past. Used to be a big part of the game, remember when JPR Williams got a stud through his cheek?
John Ashworth was the culprit that day at the Brewery Field, Bridgend. Anyway, as the match official "dealt" with the Brown incident on the field, can't see it being cited
Yeah, I think there is something about taking care in those situations. The Irish player was holding on to the ball and head his head in the wrong place, making no attempt to move. Brown was clearly trying to hook the ball back, but kept on missing it. I heard the rabid Keith Wood on the highlights show ranting that Brown MUST be cited. Ridiculous!! I think you're right about the use of the foot at the breakdown. Must be a Eddie thing as you say.The breakdown area was certainly an area that needed attention following Lancaster's awful reign. I thought our line out was better yesterday too.
Lots in the news about doctors saying rugby should be basically non contact in school years. Now I'm all for avoiding injuries, especially head injuries, but this is too much. Rugby in particular is a sport you need to start young to get the technique right and in which quality of coaching is key. I'd much rather learn how to tackle against a six stone 11 year old than a 15 stone 18 year old. The campaign is led by Professor Allyson Pollock, a public health specialist who I had the misfortune to have to work with a bit in a previous job. She has, in her own head, never been wrong, and never felt the need to listen to anyone else's opinion, ever. Her biggest issue is the non existent, or barely existent, 'privatisation' of the NHS. I have some blood pressure challenges so I better stop here.
I agree with all of that wholeheartedly. Good points well made. We're back to the Rugby this weekend and unfortunately will miss the first half to the big game of the weekend due to the 4 o'clock kick off. Hopefully I can make it to the White Horse for the second half. I see Eddie Jones has broken his media silence today and has named an unchanged side with Tuilagi and Launchbury on the bench. We have strong replacements and think this will be the difference between the two sides. I'm glad to see Itoje keep his place and it will be interesting to see if England can suppress Faletau following the scrum. Apparently Tuilagi has been scything through the English defence in training and will be a useful weapon to bring on against a tiring Welsh side.
This weeks fixtures. Ireland V Italy 1.30pm Sat England V Wales 4.00pm Sat Scotland V France 3.00pm Sun My predictions for this weekend are; I think Ireland will beat Italy. I think Wales have more experience and they will narrowly defeat England in what is likely to be the title decider. I think Scotland might cause an upset and beat France.
That is so cute 999's. Which prediction is laughable? I guess there are two you might not agree with. Wales to beat England and Scotland to beat France??? Just my opinions on how I see the three games going. Maybe I should go down the bookies and do a tenner treble? If it comes in, it might pay for my next trip over.
Sorry mate, I couldn't resist it. The context of it all has me still laughing. You maybe right in your predictions and I fear you may well end up having the last laugh. A pint on me is on it's way over to you the next time you're cross the sea. Good man.
You're on Mr. 999's. The Middlesboro game is my next one. Hammersmith Junior might advise what the returns would be on that treble. If it comes in, I'll but you a couple of pints back.
Yeah right! That's April Fool's day. I'm not falling for that one. You can keep your hand in your pocket. I admire you for your dedication for getting over mate. I'm more than happy to pay for your drinks when you're over here and pay for your ticket to the match. I moan about travelling thirteen miles and then we have fans like you. Puts a lot who are local to shame. Well done mate, you should be up for supporter of the year.
I know thousands who deserve supporter of the year before me 999's especially this season. I have only been at 3 games lol.
Big weekend, just worked out that I probably won't be able to see much of the action. Balls. Desperately want England to win but fear that they won't.
England v Wales at Twickenham. Surely there can be only one outcome - an England win!!! Mind you, I thought that in the World Cup! Should be a bloody good game though! COE!!!
If you believe the hype, the England-Wales game will be won within the set scrum. Jones is already protesting the dirty tricks the Wales forwards will get up to. The spectator rarely sees what goes on in this critical area. It's one of the shortcomings of the visual game. Even Brian Moore seems to be guessing...
