Henry Winter has argued that the third choice keeper should go to a young 'keeper for experience. However big Colin mentality has taken over giving Butland the nod I feel. Butland has potential but so do Rudd and Steer who both performed beyond what was expected of them against Premier League opposition last season.
i fully believe jed steer will be an england keeper. not so sure about rudd but we shall see. both are extremely impressive. butland has got the nod because clemence adores him
Hope Ruddy's done enough this season and in two days of training to be a strong consideration for England in the future.
completely gutted for him! what shocking luck i was hoping he would play some part in tomorrow's game
Think both will become fantastic PL keepers none the less!! I agree I think Steer probably looks as though he has more potential.
How exactly do goalkeepers break fingers? If it's a known hazard, surely they guard against it happening?
Tweet from Henry Winter saying England rate him 'very highly' and that he will definitely be going to Brazil.
Don't know how anybody can say that? 2 years is a long time away and anything can happen! if he carries on with the progress he has shown in the last year then most definately he will be an england squad player, but like i say anything can happen to disrupt it!
TBH, I am gutted for him and i have put on record many times that if anybody out of the norwich squad deserved a call up it was him. I was just making a point that you can't **** yourself silly over a comment like that, when it is just pure conjecture!
Just pointing out that if the England managment got on well with him and he's performed well in training he will definitely be considered in the future.
I think Norwich's goals against column may well put paid to another call up. In seriousness I'm gutted for him, IMO he should be second in line behind Hart at the moment.
Rubbish goals against is NOT just the result of the keeper and anyone with any sense will see that, of course it looks bad on paper but that is only part of it. Perhaps that's why the England staff y'know actually watch them play
