Believe me, I'm not knocking KK. He is a goalkeeping legend for us and always will be.

I was just wondering if it was easier to be a 'keeper back then. IMO, Keelan was a better 'keeper than Ruddy is now, but I was just curious.

Was that the one when he went to 'punch' the cross be accidentally caught the player and laid him out cold? <laugh>

Easily up there with the best, I can't believe that some jokers actually picked on him for well over season ''His **** we want Forster back'', most people those with sense gave him time still I remember people questioning his confidence and command of the box, we're not conceding those soft goals from corners and I've seen Ruddy absolutely boss the defence.

If you guys who never saw Keelan play then find out if there was ever a film of the game where we beat ManU 2-1 at OT in the Cup. That ranks as one of the greatest goalkeeping displays you will ever see. Mind you, next round he dropped a clanger. But he saved City far more times than he let them down.
Keepers were better in the 60's and 70's and we ruled the world. How many countries had a Shilton and Clemence taking turns to play for England. And Banks was the greatest ever.
John Ruddy is a good goalkeeper and may turn out a very good goalkeeper but lets see it for 10 seasons on the trot and then he'll be a great.

100% agree with this KIoff, no rose tinted specs needed, it's still as clear as ever in my mind, Keelan was as good as any keeper I've ever seen.
I remember the Barclay throwing stuff onto the pitch for him, chewing gum, comb's (he used to re-do his quiff during the game) sweets etc.
Then of course there was the violence, no quarter asked or given, if you hurt KK, then it was advisable not to go into his penalty area again during the game! :emoticon-0146-punch
    My all time Hero!! <ok>

He used to like a drink in the pub opposite the Woolpack, was it the Rouen? Gordon Hill, one of the all time respected refs said he was the best keeper never to play for England. And he was the best penalty taker you would ever want to see. Ran up and took it like a goal kick. Wallop, roof of the net, goalie and all.
