Becs I think the reality that perhaps the squad is poor should be the real issue - I worry that my optimism that we should be higher is misplaced and in fact we are just chronically pap

It's yet another year of cobbling together a load of randomers we've picked up on the cheap. It's nice to be optimistic but in reality I'm not expecting anything until we actually start to build a team. If that's with the current lot who can work out how to play together as a team or starting again in Jan that remains to be seen!

He is in a lose lose situation

D day for him arrives next may. If we aren’t promoted as it looks like we won’t then he is a dead man walking
There are differing schools of thought about the football he plays and prefers. His previous 3 clubs the name of the game was expedience.
There is a feeling among our fans that we should be playing with a bit of chutzpah as opposed to the diet of eye bleeding stodge dished up by chef ross. Looking at our wage bill, squad etc etc that is not unfair.
I reckon even if we lose out on promotion come may, that if we are playing expansive, attacking, exciting footie thsn he will be given a chance by the fans.
If, however, the football is a case of 'normal service has been resumed' well he will lose any goodwill etc that he is currently afforded.
I really cant see how he is going to be able to change much if anything before xmas and the next window.
Teams like Lincoln, wycombe, Fleetwood have ( on paper ) much inferior squads however their managers have them playing to their strengths, do their homework on the opposition and know how to contain errors. Yes he was a 'nice guy' but seriously ross has left a sort of fug, a rotting stench in the squad. They are chokers bereft of confidence or bravado.
Parkinson needs to dispel this malaise and give us back some swagger.
Mcgeady, maguire, o' neon even kimpioka have the technique to contribute to this 'rebirth'.
Hopefully parkinson has the skillset and experience to do this

I totally agree with you. However when Ross was appointed we were all told of his exciting attacking play. How did it go so badly wrong? The pressure of not losing games?

Even if Parkinson makes us more direct, but we’re winning and attacking teams I think he’ll win over a lot of our support. I remember fondly the Reid days, and I’m hoping we can recreate a similar atmosphere within the squad.

I dont believe we should pay too much heed to what he said or how he comes across in his inaugural press conference.
All of it is lip service and platitudes.
As for what happened at his last 3 clubs. While they may be big by this dog 5hit division standards they are still dwarfed by us in almost every aspect.
We will know by xmas how the team/squad is gelling.
We were all sucked in by ross at his conferences and first few months here. I am sure he went into his interview armed with a very impressive presentation and charmed the pants off donald et al. Not to mention he looked the part.
Truth is he was an empty vessel and as they say they make the most noise.
If this takeover/investment ie as it seems, if he's not doing the business by next Feb or march, the new mob will want his head, sure as eggs

Sorry like but the match was an utter joke mind. Long ball after long ball with nobody within 40 yards of the forward. No surprise we mustered 1 shot.

Garbage. We wont see donald for months now.

Never was or will be in sd's cheer squad but he can hardly be blamed for yesterday.
His fault was tolerating ross after the play off final humiliation.
Maybe parkinson was the best of a bad bench but again barely 1 training session and 2 days after being appointed he can in no way be blamed for that game.
That lies at the feet of ross, no one else.
He has put together a team of shirkers and chokers and it is going to take weeks if not months to exorcise the demons ross has inadvertently planted in their heads.
The ball is like a hot potato in their hands
Disguise the fear and trepidation with side ways passes then a big hoof. Ross was fooling no one except football ignoramuses. Ainsworth must have been chuckling as to how easy it was and I reckon Barton will be rubbing his hands together with glee at the real chance of 3 points and rubbing our noses in it to further ingratiate himself into pastieland folklore.
Make no mistake Parkinson has a huge job cutting out the cancer that ross has left behind

When you start a thread and complain about poor grammar then continue to not capitalise names...
