I used to post the food collection threads with the thread title "get your tins out for the lads".

When I posted a generic title like "food collection v Arsenal" it got hardly any views or replies. As you can't bump your own thread, it quickly vanished from the front page.

"Get your tins out" posted by a female poster is eye catching and the thread gets a ton more views. It gets naturally bumped with daft comments but it keeps the collection in the forefront of people's minds, which I hope results in more people donating food.

A prominent poster took over doing my food collection threads. I've found out it's because the said poster finds the "get your tins out" tag line inappropriate and offensive. The same poster has also posted several threads proclaiming her love of dogging and swinging. I'm still at a loss why they're so offended by a play on words using an old sexist chant, but it's ok to post about their kinky sex life.

HettonBot?

That thing has ruined that forum, can’t believe its even taken over your tins thread. I’ve not been on there for a while now and won’t go back.

Yes her.

It actually played out in the run up to Saturday with her generic thread attracting very little interest on the SMB which was a shame.

She also copied my Wham game rules post and passed it off as her own!

Gammon" is a British slang term for a middle-aged white man with a rosy or red complexion, often used to describe someone perceived as right-wing, politically outraged, or a Brexiteer. The term is a political insult that gained prominence on social media and has roots in older meanings of "gammon" referring to nonsensical talk or the appearance of pink, cooked pork.

The next decade is going to be wild, all bets are off.

Haven't been on rtg for years! Never had fell out without anyone or owt. It was just too busy. Stay away for a day through work and it would be 20 or 30 pages behind and quite often it would be drivel! I found the pace here better, there is still plenty of drivel to go about but not so much that I can’t keep up!:azn:

I find this absolutely hilarious, saying that get your tins out is offensive to someone who goes dogging and let's people know she goes dogging! Something tells me they aren't really offended and there is something else at pay there <laugh>

Is it really a she?

It's definitely one woman making all the posts.

Not sure if they are actually from Hetton or not though.

It's become a really toxic mixture and ruined what used to be a cracking forum.

There's a relentless clique of witless posters who seem to have little real interest in SAFC.

Mix that together with this Htton creature and it's warped into something quite different.

Saddest of all is how many of the better posters have allowed themselves to be led by the nose and go along with it all.

The Mods don't help, although they're not all bad.

is it ****. It's a reference to a perpetually offended, constantly irate bellend with no critical faculties. there's a couple on here in fact.
Nah it’s mainly used to shut down any debate on certain issues. although I’m sure you are probably right in regards to someone on that message board.
