Fork it! Rs Fans tuck in
QPR have been given food for thought by fans of the oldest café in Shepherd’s Bush.
The institution that is A. Cooke's pie and mash shop was founded in 1899, and supporters want an outlet at the ground after it was red carded from the site occupied on Goldhawk Road since 1934.

Customers from all walks of life have been through Cooke's doors, including David Beckham and Pete Townshend.
    • In fact, The Who’s guitar legend was here on set when his famous homage to the mod era, Quadrophenia, featured a scene where the main character sits down to eat.

At the time Townshend said: “Cooke’s is a part of the history of Goldhawk Road. For my part, this was where he Who took flight in 1963, where we performed one of our first shows as the Detours.”

A compulsory purchase order to redevelop the nearby market and surrounding area means the eatery will ladle up its last liquor on July 25.
Rangers fans and devotees of Cooke's want supporters to sign an online petition that persuades the club to bring a match day outlet to Loftus Road, and QPR are expected to meet Cooke's owner Mike Boughton in the coming weeks.
The online petition can be found here.

All I can say is don't let this become a part of history that the next generation can only be told about how good it was. Save it with everything you can.

This is a very serious issue. We must keep the pie & mash shop alive.
