I just really like him, I said it at the time last year he was the horse I would take out of the Telescope maiden, hes entered in the 1m4 race but Varian said after his last run they might stick to 1m2 with him. Mars looked unlucky in the Derby but he will be a stupidly short price on the back of that and id be confident he wont get near Elkaayed round there.
 
Shea Shea is entered in both the King's Stand Stakes and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes I'll be having a large bet whichever race it goes for
 
I think Mars will always be a horse that people will drum up excuses every time he is beaten...very opposable wherever he races.
Highlight of the Week: Animal Kingdom,an absolute beast of a horse.
 
I am also very excited if Sir John Hawkins turns up. I was a really big fan of his dam Peeping Fawn. She started off slowly but was a complete machine at the end. It was a shame we never got to see her take on the colts.

Looking forward to Royal ascot as always because it is head and shoulders above any other flat festival. I think Shea Shea could be the satr of the festival but will be watching the Ballydoyle horses with great interest as i think they could have a great 5 days.

Is anyone else going or have you bnbeen beofere? i ask only because I am there on the wedneday and whilst I've been to Ascot a lot i have never done the royal meeting. Are there any tips i should know or rthings i should be wary of for being in the grandstand? Thanks!

Never been to the Royal meeting to be honest but really dislike the place even on other days. Couldn't think of much worse.
 
Snow Fairy is a brilliant shout. I was looking at the POW and Al Kazeem is favourite on the back of beating Camelot. But Camelot's form from last year is questionable not to mention we don't know if he's the same horse as last year. Those two head the market and then you have a proper G1 horse for a trainer we know can get them right first time out coming in at 4/1. If we can get confirmation that she's turning up 4/1 looks lovely, it's even an e/w price I guess. Will she be much shorter on the day though?
 
The other would be Hot Snap if she goes for the Coronation. It's not public knowledge but she *allegedly* burst a blood vessel in the 1000. ;) . Wipe that run out and her form ahead of Sky Lantern looks good. Whether or not it's true form I don't know but she might be the value on the day this time round as opposed to Sky Lantern who seemed the value on the day of the 1000.
 
Royal Ascot is actually my favourite meeting of the year (just pips the Cheltenham Festival by a short head).

I&#8217;ll be in attendance next Tuesday and that day is all about one horse for me. Mr Henderson&#8217;s Lieutenant Miller. I&#8217;ve been droning on about him and the &#8216;Ascot Stakes&#8217; since last October and 8 days time is the big, big day for him &#8211; 8 months in the planning, 5 minutes in the old execution.

Other horses I like the look of next week, at this stage, would be Magician (St James&#8217; Palace), Pythagorean (Britannia), Dundonnell (Jersey) and Beldale Memory (Queen Mary or Albany).

Here&#8217;s a question though for anyone paying to go to the Royal meeting next week. How do you feel about paying your admittance fee when, in comparison, the Saxe-Coburgs walk through the gate for nothing?!? Meanwhile, as for the Executive changing the name of the 'Windsor Forest' to the 'Duke of Cambridge'...just don't get me started!
 
The Windsor Forest has no pedigree. It only appeared 10 years ago when they increased to 5 days. What's up with Cambridge anyway?
 
True, but it was a lovely name for a race for fillies and mares! &#8216;Windsor Forest&#8217; conjures up images of beauty, enchantment, natural splendour and nature in all its glory. &#8216;The Duke of Cambridge&#8217; in comparison does little but depress me.

One other to add to the Royal Ascot mix if he goes &#8211; Nevis in the &#8216;King Eddie the Seventh&#8217;. Could be quite a week for his family as he is, of course, a half-brother to the latest 2YO sensation, Stubbs.

<laugh> <laugh> Like the dastardly Henry Kissinger getting in free to see the World Cup Final every four years? However, with your clout, Sir Barney, I am indeed surprised that you have to pay to get in?..........:emoticon-0112-wonde
