see.. i sent you that pm, last week, because i felt i was completely out of order which was why i apologized, but for this.. gimme your reasons ya **** and despite me saying i, 'despise you and macca' or whatever i may say, i shall never put you on ignore , because that's what a forum is for.. debate, agreeable or disagreeable! i've never put anyone on ignore, unless it's extremely offensive behavior **** sake andy.. i said i was emotional but this is taking the piss.. what other **** would make a dedicated post
I would have thought any central defender would be more comfortable in a back four because they have two full backs to protect them. Only having three players to cover the width of the field must be of concern especially if you are not getting enough support from the wing backs and central midfield. If the whole team is good at their jobs it can work well though.
I'm sick of saying it, but what exactly does age have to do with ability? Steven Caulker has never played a major tournament, so why does he suddenly warrant a place in the squad because he's 6 years younger than Davies? He's having an OK season for Cardiff individually speaking, but Davies is actually playing a blinder week in, week out and didn't even get a mention. Michael Carrick is 31, but is he a better footballer than Tom Huddlestone? Not from what I've seen he isn't. Is he going to influence the England team on a humid Brazilian pitch? Nope. Would Huddlestone? Probably. Choosing younger players like Caulker, Jones, Cleverley, Zaha, Smalling etc is all well and good, but the finals only come round once every 4 years and you have to take players that have been in form in the present, not players that people hope will become future superstars later. The only thing a young, talented player offers over a player that's 29/30+ is resale value, which I think is what pretty much everybody thinks of when they see a young, talented player, but then what would that have to do with the England set up? Thudd and Davies are both established PL players who have had quality seasons, so why on Earth they aren't at least part of the squad (I'm not demanding they play) as cover is beyond me.
Warnock has just said on talksport he'd have Curtis in over smalling etc but he carnt see Roy driving upto hull to watch him
Maybe we could send Roy a list of our fixtures with the southern fixtures highlighted. We could add directions to the grounds and maybe a city shirt with Davies on the back incase he forgets who he's going to watch.
Keane is probably right in saying Davies isn't world class, but he's having the season of his life and with how poor the English centre halves are at the moment he deserves a shot as much as anyone.
It isn't because he plays for my club, but genuinely, I don't think there's many, if any better English Central Defenders in the Premier League at present. It is no coincidence that our defence has been one of the very best in the league all season, look at our goals against column. Smalling, Caulker, Jagielka - none of which are as good as Curtis Davies.
Davies for England???????????????? haha.. if Thudd can't make it, and he is head and shoulders above Curtis.. Davies has NO chance!
