I agree the petition is stupid and if anything will have the opposite effect, but I think rather than being a personal dig at the player, probably more a reaction to such an average and out of form player being picked seemingly just for playing for a big club. Same could be said I guess of A Cole ATM as well, but at least he has actually proven himself at this level. As above, if Cleverly played for West Brom etc, he'd be nowhere near the squad especially when we are quite well stocked in midfield.

I could understand the petition if he was being selected over Xavi and Iniesta, but the players he is keeping out of the team are hardly great. Cleverley has had a poor season, and I personally don't think he's United class but i do feel a tad sorry for him as it's not been easy for any player to shine in our team this season
