Rowett's Done One

As ever I don't know whether you're being serious, but I was thinking the opposite. Surely Oxford are expected to be pretty much bottom in this division and last season was an overperformance.

I think their fans would disagree with that and will be expecting them to do a little better.

its one of those things from the outside it seems mad but
when you are fighting relegation each season, it probably gets stale
new manager might give them that bit of tiny boost to stay up

portsmouth will probably hire rowett in a couple weeks
Selles..? oh hang on... <laugh>

Portsmouth look like they’re in trouble as well. Didn’t really strengthen in the summer and have another injury crisis.
Good shout...Odd that one, because I expected them to be knocking on the playoffs door...Maybe I should have taken Plymouth into consideration. Survived in the first season, hopeless last season and relegated. Perhaps Pompey are heading in the same direction.

If portsmouth have another few bad results
Theyll sack him out of desperation to stay up in my opinion

They didn't last year, I don't think they will this year. They had a reasonable transfer window but have struggled a lot with injuries, some of whom are now returning. They've had a couple of reasonable results lately.

Best not to mention the Championship team with just a solitary win in the league this season did it at Fratton Park.

You do wonder what the owner and I imagine some fans expect
Did they expect to push on to the playoffs this season??
He won’t be out of work long
It’s only like us sacking Rosenior or Selles, at the time they both looked like crazy decisions, but somehow, both have lead to where we are now.
Although where we are now is 4th at Christmas, despite everything, we may still end up in the bottom half of the table, depending on how the second half of the season goes.
We could be talking about crazy Acun sacking Sergei for not getting promoted.
Football owners think they know best, fans think they know best, but let’s face it, like everything, there’s a lot of luck, both good & bad, involved in everything.

I think Pompey will be fine come May. I'd worry more if I was a Wrexham fan, I don't see them having the quality to last the rest of the season, but there's really nothing between any of the teams from about 14th downward so my money would be on Wednesday (obviously), Oxford and either Norwich or Charlton. 10 points separate 11th to 21st and if Norwich do in fact get their **** together, then it's going to be ridiculously close come the end of the season.

I do agree with SW3, this is by far the better league in English football. It's almost as good as the National League in terms of excitement.

If they're not top 8 come the middle of Jan, I think they'll drop Parkinson. Not sure who would fit in there, maybe a Russell Martin like geezer.
