I know. I was thinking that too. So I checked to see why I was thinking this way. Why do we rate him so highly?

Stewart: 171 games 57 goals.
Cureton: 174 games 72 goals.

Surely Cureton should be above him?

 

I liked Cureton, but Stewart had come through our youth system which supporters like. You just new that Stewart had something special which he showed in the Premiership.But I must admit i am amazed at Curetons strike rate. I didn't realise it was that good.

Also 6 games of Curetons 174 and 4 goals of his 72 was when he was on loan with us. The stats above were both spells combined

 

Looking back to players who played similar amount of games as Stewart and Cureton for us but scored more goals....

Bannister 206 game 80 goals
Dai Ward (in the 1950's) 175 games 90 goals

Everyone else who scored more than Cureton and Stewart played well more games, 250 / 300 games or even more!

 

I cannot remember to much of Dai Ward. Bannister was brilliant,as was Cureton but in my mind was not in the same league as Marcus Stewart. I would be interested in Barry Hales scoring rate as he also had something special. The thing that i remember about Marcus was he always seemed to have all the time in the world where other players would just snatch at the early ball.

Curetons goals were crackers mind. Remember that goal vs Crewe at the Mem? Wow!

I just asked on twitter if they know anything about any special announcement tomorrow. Twentyman yet to ask.

 

Twentyman has asked about their thoughts on a takeover/consortium rumours. He hasnt though asked about tomorrow. Twentyman has deliberately ignored my tweet. To be fair, having fans on his show is pretty pointless and boring, no offence to those fans on tonight but this radio show would be far better if it had a player or former player on or even management/directors.

 

Yeah another waste of an hour I'm not going to bother again

 

I think I will wait to see who the guest is first. But if it is fans again, I wont bother either.
