He's young, has lots of potential and that goal v Tranmere was pure class. Aldershot look a bit route one, so let's hope Mensah suits our style and does well. Expectations will be low because of his record, but I'm sure DC has seen something that will add something different.

We have him as a striker but he said in his interview that he prefers to play out wide and cut in. Sounds like a replacement for Bodin to me!

Honestly, if he can score goals like the screamer v Tranmere then he'll be fine. Let's hope he's the gem in a box of old clearance goods rather than a Poundland.

DC says he is hoping to sign a Winger, Def Midfielder, and a Centre half, so it looks like he had given up on Billy Bodin staying when he said he wanted 4 players in the January window , but he wants permanent signings, so maybe there could be a couple of loan players as well

What I took from DC's comments is that he wants 4 players. He prefers them all to be permanent signings. But if that don't work out then he will fall back on the loan market in the final week of the window to get what he needs. Still will be just the 4 players. Thats my interpretation of what he said anyway.

Notice that the clubs near us in the league appear to be signing players from Championship or premier clubs our only signing is a conference player, I am beginning too wonder if our board really want to take this club forward. The initial hope was three players by the Blackpool game instead we got one who hadn't trained with us for long enough to play. Why cant we be like other clubs and tell the clubs like PNE they can our players when we have a replacement.
DC said that the list of his preferred targets was given to the board in December, surely they should have been working towards signing the players ready for the beginning of the window. I am beginning to believe that relegation is much closer that mid table safety

In the past we've signed some players from a higher level. They usually haven't been very good. We've also signed quite a few players from lower leagues who have been hungry, keen and really good. I'm not worried!

I believe the owners want to take our club forward. But I believe they didn't realise how difficult it would be. They came in with planning permission for UWE so they probably thought we would generate a good income to be able to be self sufficient while improving on the pitch. But as UWE broke down, everything has gone wrong. Every penny is being used towards a redevelopment of the Mem. So not much money available to sort out improving the squad. But they did spend money on Nichols and now Mensah. In an ideal world, keeping Bodin until we get a replacement would have been brilliant. But both PNE and Bodin would want to get the player settled for their own campaign.

Exactly what I have been saying for a while now <ok>

Great result yesterday. I hope DC and the owners DON'T think we don't need any more signings based on yesterdays performance and result.

See we had a trialist playing in the Central league fixture today which we won 5-0, he scored the opening goal in what the report says appears to be rather one sided

3 in before Blackpool? No. Just 1 in. 12 days later..... still just the 1 in the door.

However, I believe Thursdays is the day we usually make our signings on. Say 4pm. <whistle>
